Hey guys,
I don't tend to analyse stats or treat this game like a science project! However, after seeing 187's recent lvl cap photo and speaking to some friends of mine I was informed about the strength softcap of 200.5 (i believe). Now im starting to wonder how this is going to work with all classes (from a devil soma perspective). Bow lvl 100 has the capability to cap with 200 str and dex if they punch for some solid strength gains. What will happen with more strength heavy classes such as axe, spear, sword? Im guessing an axe would reach the 200.5 strength cap in the low - mid lvl 80s? At which point they have 2 decisions to make ..... 1) carry on leveling while gaining .1 str per lvl, resulting in a character with just over 200 str and way under 200 dex 2) They stop leveling their character as not to recieve gimped stats and wait for the level cap and strength softcap to be raised Both of these options seems ridiculous imo. Im a swordie and I wont be leveling as soon as i reach the strength softcap. If others decide to do the same then all we are gonna have is lvl 100 archers with 200 str and dex and every other class will be stuck in the 80-95 level range untill the issue is addressed. A suggestion would be to raise the softcap for each class individually whilst maintaining the intended ratio of str/dex for each class. Any ideas or comments regarding this?

I asked 187 the other day, and he said he didnt level past 200 str, thats just what he landed on, so wether its a soft cap or not we dont know, im certain its a slowdown, but not some 0.1 bullcrap, maybe 2x slowdown like the 95 ones (was like this on most private servers i played dsoma on)

Thanks for posting this dude. I was gonna but I forgot >. <
I am hoping a GM can comment in this assumption of mine, that you still gain DEX once you have hit the STR softcap (as a few guildies think otherwise and we are just speculating here without confirmation). If this is indeed the case, then the other classes will have an opportunity to catch up in DEX (Axe and Spear can punch for even better Dex), but I'm still not 100% convinced they will reach 200 DEX by Level 100 (which they should, imo). If, on the other hand, DEX stops going up once you hit this 200 STR soft cap, then I will end up with 170 DEX (30 less than an archer, so I will not be able to compete with them). Now imagine how worse off the other classes will be. Like i said, I'm just speculating here based on information from guildies. Some official confirmation from GMS would be nice. PS Just to show off how bad the situation is, please point me to an ACTIVE 80+ Devil who is NOT Archer/Knux. There is none, they've all quit or not leveling any more.

I'm sure dex is linked to str in terms of gains, I remember reading something to that effect in a thread somewhere.

Yep, Dex is based from whatever str you gained at a percentage rate, for sword its 50%, knuckle 70%, spear possibly 40% and axe 30%
So the stats you'de be looking at is Archer 200 str 200 dex Knuckle 200 str 170 dex Sword 200 str 150 dex Spear 200 str 140 dex Axe 200 str 130 dex Spear and Axe might be -10 dex of what I put aswell, not 100% sure, but its one or the other.

Yes, but I'm thinking the STR soft cap is more like a massive slowdown. Does an Axer's DEX slow down when their STR hits the 65/95 slowdowns? No, it doesn't. It keeps going up same speed till their DEX has hit the same 65/95 slowdown. Once again, I need to stress that I'm just speculating here. But the above is my logical thoughts on the soft cap.

With regards to the slow downs before 100.0, sword for instance see's the same gains untill 100str/100dex the limiting factor is the 100 dex slow down which is double of the str slowdown. Which determines engame stats. I guess the only way to know is for a non archer to cap str.

Spoke to isylver today about the str/dex gains, he said 215 is the str cap at wbm, yes it is possible to hit str cap within the 100 levels and he was not going to tell me if it was possible to hit str cap within 100 levels by punching.(as a axer)
Imo we do need more class's at higher levels before anymore changes occur xD

Surely the whole point in having axe/sword/knuckle is that they have more strength over archers, but the stats 187 posted at level 100 just makes other classes an unviable option at level 100 for pvp as even if an archer has 15 less strength then you they will still have a shit lot more dex then you

I was lead to believe str goes down to around 0.1 per level after 200 (discounting the 0.5 jump from 200-200.5), I'm also wondering what this rumoured archer nerf is about, as I don't think it's the way to go for many reasons... other classes need a boost...giving archers a nerf is the wrong way to go IMO.
I've put levelling on hold until I know where archers stand in general.
