I am certain I have seen this posted before I can’t find where though, so thought I’d bump it.

Does anyone remember in Esoma, the two ‘super’ characters that raided TYT and Pande and taunted the players etc as everyone tried to kill them? (Anyone remember names? Lol)

This event was simple and REALLY fun from what I remember and to honest didn’t require any sort of over the top GM commands to carry out.. so trust issues wouldn’t be a factor?

How about a poll, two ‘community managers’ voted (I’m looking at you Raven...Foxtrck?) the characters made and the events taking place randomly once a week? Give them ideas on the content and could even make a nice quest out of it/lead up to the next patch etc.

Dropping some items etc would be nice too.

Don’t know how but this felt different to your run of the mill boss spawns, probably down to the interaction and the substance behind it.

Ideas? Thanks :)

It's one of the fondest memories I have of Soma and gave people a real reason 'to be involved' in something and it can span weeks if not longer. Substance is a great word for it. This is the kind of dynamic content people keep on playing for imo and also was a part of the crux of Esoma in mind it was practically impossible to 'complete' the game.

It just needs iSylver to create a couple of 'powerless' characters/accounts with obscene stats and maybe a command to spawn 5 random monsters at a time 'around' the player. Leaving the story / arc to the community.

Something like that.

It was all just a trick to implement bull horn metal into the game for crafters 😂

Can't remember if it was head of town or a new npc added that you had to give your bull horn metal to, I'm sure it was something like, humans needed to collect a huge amount of bull horn metal to prevent a disaster happening, but there wasn't a know target amount so you had no clue on how much would satisfy this bizarre story. I think it ended by each worlds mysterious warrior stealing all the bull horn metal.

Then after a few week, there was a few mysterious shouts in game, something like prepare for battle, I'm coming for your town.

Then he appeared and tyt was packed, humans eventually killed him and then afterwards bull horn metal became the best type of metal for crafters 😉

As a guy who plays games to be immersed (as I’m sure most of you are) this kind of thing is what made Esoma so awesome. Would love to see this kinda thing again!
