Doesnt it just depend on the requirement of what you're making? And being x skill above it = max success rate?

It was suggested at first that you needed 50 skill more than the item required to have max success which is 80% success, then it was suggested that you needed 70 skill more to have max success of 80%.

Then the new procs to make where added and assuming there min skill requirements is 112 then you would need 182. I think Virgil commented that 192 skill gave the max success of 80%.

I don't know about "new proc" tabs and things like DDT as nobody knows the skill requirement.

However i have tested on my own server there is no % increase from 172 for normal things like KE,DP,SS etc.

Its around 80-82% success rate at 172 after thorough testing.

So we’re saying skill definitely matters re: cook & pot but possibly not metal?

Dea can you test metal ups and see if 100 v 150 makes any difference?

don't get the upgrading confused with normal crafting.

Potion, cooking, accessories, armour, weapon crafting is fixed at max 80% success.

Upgrading at the anvil is entirely different.

I'm afraid so beachshorts, the more skill you gain the more success until you reach the max success. Also note that for accessories, armour and weapon crafting the more skill you have over the min required of an item the more chance of a tag.

This was the case for about 2 weeks, 12 months ago or so.
Large craft skill does not have any noticeable effect on creating a tagged item.

i crafted 2 x leg and 3 epics in a bag of 40 daggers with a 5 skill character....and have crafted approx 4 epics, 0 leg in 300 bags with lupi......could all be rng ofc
Lupi don't craft too much..but still do a fair bit. Haven't had a leg for over 2 years, and well over a year since any intense of any weapon.. low or hi end item
Just rembered..last intense was an apus, when i was making some for vesp..and that was well over a year ago ;p

Guild mate with 50 odd skill crafted a leg 5* on his 3rd attempt. I've made 3 leg daggers in 150 skill, cant remember the last intense I made.

2 days ago failed 6 items mixture of low bows 4 going +1 and 2 were already +3. Had 35 toes last night n made 1 +5 item all the rest failed

This RNG is a strange beast
