Agree with it made public and so far 77% of people agree with me.

Hackers, dupers, thief's will be found out easily and prevent rumors of people duping +6 int rings.

In fact it will mean less work for Isylver when people ask him to trace items to find out who has what as does happen occasionally.

"THEMAT"This isn't WoW or some crap like that though. Items are unique, people should have a right to be secretive if they desire.

why should they?

Because the game is about building your character how you want. Why shouldn't people have the right to privacy if they choose to do so?

Like I said, this isn't a game where all items are exactly the same and everyone gets to the same level and has the same gear...

i just don't see the problem, whats the worst that can happen if someone knows what items you got? should be boasting those good items why keep good things hidden?! unless its a case of you dont want them to know what you haven't got

This doesn't make any sense at all, if people are duping its easily seen in the database. There will always be rumours because people are idiots. At the end of the day, if an item was duped, the person wouldn't be stupid enough to log out with it equipped in the first place(if the armoury was open)

Nothing, but why should they know if I don't want them to? That's one of the good things about Soma and it always has been. Not everyone wants to go around boasting about what items they've made.

Having the option to let people see your armoury in detail is fine, then people can do what they want. But forcing it to be open is stupid, if it is changed, I'll just make sure I log out with nothing equipped.

Themat, you are allowed to have an opinion, I'm not going to argue with you.

The majority of voters / playerbase seem to want this implemented going by the votes so far.

As are you, but to be honest I would think the majority of people who want this implemented are those who don't have anything worth seeing and just want the chance to be nosey about other peoples gear.

I agree with Themat. One thing I always liked about Soma was the secrecy surrounding another player's stats. Generally; they were kept hidden as a means of preventing attacks but at the same time it made the game a little more like a real-life community in that the only way you could find out more about a character other than 'oh he has the stats to wear hero armour' was to get to know them or their friends. Observation of their hunting only told part of the story. On this server; with a wider degree of weapons/armours and mobs it is perhaps easier to guess a player's stats anyway. However; I prefer not to disclose my armoury profile.

werent public in the test but you still had the option to hide the gear by /save or log out naked or with trash gear anyways?

You can fairly accurately work out peoples stats by the damage they do/take if you know what items they are wearing. If people want it public then change your own one to public but atleast currently that's a choice people can make.

My char is naked 99% of the time but mine will be staying private regardless.

Before some kid with a hardon for me pipes up on a store char, duped items show as (1) in the database regardless if they are stackable or not, everything is traceable.

Having the armory public also helps new players to see what's available in the game and also what sort of requirements they need to get certain stuff. This game is very hard for people that haven't played it before so any little helps really

This is the same reason I think it's a decent idea to make them public

Having a choice is ideal as well, but why not just have a system that costs barr or something to hide your information? and it requires topping up weekly or something etc. So then if you really do care enough about your stuff being shown you will be happy enough to keep pumping barr into hiding it ;]

I've been

Good night

Edit* missed quote

That's bollocks lol. That's what the forums, website features, guilds and others in-game are for. There are also people who have their armoury visible by choice so it makes no sense.

I have personally been wondering why everyone was running round in those horrible orange pants, thanks to an EQ guild member I now know they are jack o pants and know what they do. It's just helpful why does it matter of someone knows if you have 4% Eva or 5% I mean come on

Just try and look at some people's stuff you will struggle to find a single person showing their stuff, well till just recently anyway. You only have to press hide once and it's gone forever. It's a nice feature and it's just not used. Like it's been said before.

I think it would be a good idea to charge to hide, either real life money just because it benefits the server or like someone said can be charged weekly/monthly for barr
