I honestly broke about 20 intense stingers to get a +5 so it’s still hard

Really need that +1 system so they don't break, too harsh.

The only argument against +1 no stat on fail rather than break imo is the hoarding so combo everything to intense (as d soma is now essentially) but that is easily resolved by just removing combo.
I'd rather just lose the ability to combo and have an item's potential capped on failure and avoid character regression/having to spend months-years making back-ups.

Not a fan of the fake +1
If anything you should just lose the upgrade on a fail and have the item itself be at 99% safe as like doing a prepare which from my understanding is 99% success but still has that 1% chance of failure. |

I would rather lose the upgrade item itself than have 1 less attempt at upgrading.
I.e. A real +5 against a fake +5 that's had say 2,3 or 4 fails is only worth giving to npc and waste of an item or wh space. |

I catch your drift but wouldn't it be better to have the shitty +5 with +2 stats to trade in the economy to lower levels that haven't had a chance to make anything yet as opposed to dismissing them as npc?

I'll put it this way....
Say you have an evasion set bone helm, top, pads and Titus boots all successful at first attempt then every attempt after 4 attempts on each piece failed then your stuck with a 3% helm at +5 same for top and pads and Titus boots at 7% at again +5 nobody is going to be interested in buying or trading for them maybe a new player might take the boots if you throw something else in off your hands ;)

I say no because 90 percent of the capped players have their max eva still making it pointless and only makes it harder on newbies
People kept their eve since lv100, cap when frogs were dirt Cheap And the people who have max eva/acc now will have a advantage over everyone else if that system was put in place. Keep it as it is just up the anvil rate or drop rate to soften the blow of rips and less time sorta wasted into trying to farm and make certain items But +1 100 percent rate would fix the solution for new players And not make the older players with gear in a advantage over everyone else

You would add new tiers of armour with df / base eva/accu etc that would make the old gear defunct compared to upped new stuff.
People who have played longer will almost always have an advantage, that is just one of the features of a grinding game as opposed to a skill/timing/reflex based game like an fps.

say you had a +5, 600 recoil, bow and it failed at +6, then you would still have a 600 recoil bow - not to be sneezed at - and 2 more attempts to improve it? this would be far better than no bow at all and a lot of people would still be happy to buy and use
