"WOLF8"double drops doesn't mean u get 2 items at the same time... like 2 eps together.. or 2 med rubies.. it means that things drop 2x as often as usual.. not in 2's

x 2 drops perm can still suck but needs to be perm x 2 what it is now which is very playable usually
Leave Anvil as is apart from +1 should be 100% success (if someone snaps best bow with no spare trying SS need to have 1 or 2 weaps to make a +2/3 huntable thing or the person wont play at all or leave the game etc
Alternate pk days - will get many more players on non pk days. Why not try this to test anyway?

"BRAINSTORM"games dying slowly, soma has had its time


I mean the main factor for that would be the untimely release of classic WoW, which in my opinion couldn't have worked better for Soma considering all the down time it's had; given it a chance to re-stabilise at least. The server has had multiple periods of this, and an update talked and worked up almost always brought it back.

I do have to say Nite's discord idea mentioned by Sub earlier is pretty decent as well. The most vital update that needs to occur, just from frequency alone, is that anvil update; it seems to deter both races from hunting, farming, upgrading and it's been mentioned a lot by both races... I mean if that isn't being considered, the least the GMs could add is why it isn't tbh.

What about changing upgrades to allow for multi bonuses.. So

If yo got a ring say +2 2str, if you add a tow it becomes +3 1int, losing the str.

Change it so it becomes +2 str +1 int.

Unsure why PK is an issue currently.. You see 2 or 3 pk's a day on the feed lately. .

I won’t ever come back, but I think it’s time to accept that the average age of a Soma player is 30. That’s when marriage house kids ect all happens and can someone really invest hundreds of hours for rng at an anvil?

Every pathway in the game should be made easier, unlocked and dumbed down. Player retention is key.

I doubt anyone new will play this game, it’s only people who played the original. All nw chars are mostly just restarts of vets.

Also maybe it’s time Isyl and fin admit you have taken this as far as you can and get some help from the community.

I think Soma is in the best hands it's ever been, between Isylver and Finito they have the skill and knowledge to keep life in Soma for a very long time. But that's what it really all boils down to, both of them have a life and have to do what the rest of us do also, work, family, having a life pay bills etc and at times there's no time for Soma. I'm sure they both would love to be able to invest every spare minute working on Soma after all this is there Soma just as much as it is ours.

The older you get the less time there seems to be, appreciate what you have and everything will work out.

For endgame mobs, bring back Abyss with all its mobs, make each one drop one or two endgame things plus weapons, keep abyss bosses, maybe change their drops, and boost all of abyss enemy stat lines heavily.

Like the Crystal Beasts could drop mage upgrades, boars melee, the ancient apus' could drop specifically DT's / dex access etc, toxic ghouls could drop proc upgrades (make it so you can't cheese them with anti poison rings).

Abyss map has so much potential, especially if the quests to get items from killing the mobs are reinstated, like KE / Blue Gem etc, reinstate, make tokens they drop for the quests tradeable, and BOOM, you have trade using tokens for upgrade of choice, maybe make the quest upgrades double effect like double CT / DT / RDT etc, so people can get normal DT's etc, but every X amount of tokens can get a double one.

Maybe implement the ability to upgrade bone armour and devil equivalent using tokens, to some ultra version, via Abyss npc, will make all those bone drops at Mags more valuable.

Could even implement a quest gained Abyss set, and via quests upgrade it to Hardened, then rare, etc. up to intense, same with weapons, with each tier upgrade increasing its def and stats it awards. Could even make it class specific, if possible i.e. one requiring 200 axe skill, one 200 nuk skill etc.

There will always be those who instead want a +5 accuracy set, but those aren't the focus, those are the hardcore who will farm either way.

Give people a goal, and a viable way of attaining it, with guaranteed results, and people will hunt.

I'd also add chests that spawn like the Easter eggs on Abyss map randomly, each one giving an upgrade, so people can find nice things by exploring the map.

Edit for a rephrasing: Completely agree it is in best hands it has been but not that it theoretically could be - if Soma is to be anything more than a vanity project it has to be opened up to the community for help.

People like Cho etc putting amazing potential content in the dissy which is not being utilised for no reason at all.

Could have you as a community GM for events Raven.

If your true goal is to keep Soma alive and active as opposed to running an insular pet project then it should be opened to the community otherwise there will be 50 players max maybe each logging 3 chars at a time.

I would play again but for whatever reason it lags on my laptop and I was never able to fix it

I had this pretty severely, literally couldn't move. I played around with the resi and got it to a playable standard, still isn't smooth though I did mention it once or twice to Finito but i guess he's real busy atm.

Allow the ability to add more than 1 orange text to an item i.e.

Have the ability to add evasion and accuracy to items etc

Have the ability to add different tabs to items without losing what's already on the item.

Allow all items to be upgraded to +8 hsoma and dsoma

Create an equivalent to ss for dsoma but in line with the az pill being less than it's equivalent of a toe.

these need to be added to the Road Map somewhere - nice ideas and significantly different - will introduce some real flexibility in builds!

I'm in Arcanix, we have at least 6 people who are new to the game. That's 20% of our guild. It's just most people are stuck up their own arses (or someone else's) to fully realize what's around them.
