A few ideas for consideration – in the order that I personally think are the most important:

1/ Fix the anvil
- Enough has been said on this one……..

2/ make int to 100 and con to 30 at x1000 rates
- Again, this is a needless and horrendous slog but has become a “must do” for every new chr, so just make it easy and fast for all, eliminating botting and the endless arguments over bug hogging and resultant PKing and arguments
- Put bugs in all of the towns to allow better access to them for everyone

3/ make all mobs give +50 rates.
- it is crazy that you need to have two PCs to build the optimum chr.
- This would also encourage people to use all of the maps as they level rather than having to follow the exact prescribed route to specific mobs. So many of the maps and mobs are virtually never used at all

4/ Keep drops at x2 permanently
- Half the interest when levelling is in getting decent drops and they help stem the boredom of doing it

5/ reduce all mobs drop files to no more than say 20 items and make these items relevant to the level that they would normally be hunted at.
- This would have the benefit of making levelling and farming more productive / rewarding and much more worthwhile

Yes... +1000

I'm not alone in being... at a cross roads, because time vs. reward, the savage nature of the anvil and very poor drop rates combined with the fact that making a +50 character with 100int/30con takes 1000's of hours.

I'm going to complete the quests I have available and afterwards my time online will be limited. I'm level 120, and there's no way I will make a new character.

Once quests are done, there's nothing to play for... because you can literally spend months playing this game for absolutely nothing, literally no progress at all.

Finish Quests, use what upgrades I have, then maybe see how I feel about any level increase when it comes by.

But if it was +1 on item no break, all mobs +50 and 100int/30con in a massively reduced amount of time - I would make new characters... a mage, an archer, an axer.

I'm sorry but without levels to gain or quests the game is boring. I know what people are going to say "make those new characters" but a system where the GM's turn a blind eye to 3000hours of botting/AFK is silly.

I just don't see why these basic changes have not been made...

...and I don't know how much longer I'm going to play.

Seriously massive numbers of people have left the game because of this. I'd like an answer once and for all... is this server an improved original or is the game going to be modernised.

My nub has 350 hours 66 int by healing, 30 con, 94dex, 92 str. It doesn't take that long. 65-100 int is barely 10% at lvl 110 so 0.2 or so dex pretty pointless healing past it.

I agree with double drops purely as it takes forever to get the drops then fail at Anvil. Leaving Anvil as it is but having double drops perm will alleviate the harshness of fails.

This is the only change I really agree with.

I have also "quit"as a result of such basic changes not being made despite such a tight knit community saying that it is required. The reason for the updates not being pushed, or considered, just comes down to one of two factors; GMs have a social life that need catering to (the one you've heard the most I bet), and the fact that the GMs haven't played the game to understand the needs of users apart from reading about their in-game experiences through threads such as these ones (these are the two factors that came into my head first)

Although that sounds "toxic" (no intention of it sounding that way by the way GMs) it's just true; most of the threads start with a solid idea that really desperately requires light shone on it by the GMs (an opinion at the least regarding why or why not it should(n't) be in the game) but then go on a tangent about X player being a mongrel in-game or something.

1) Only change i'd personally approve of is making +1 100% success rate.
2)Hell Yes, Con and healing for int need to be drastically increased.
3) Hell yes, This will encourage new people to play and not have to worry about sticking to certain mobs.
4) & 5 ) Yes, Making double drops permanent and removing ridiculously long drop files would help in terms of time vs reward and the old anvil chestnut as more drops is more attempts.

1. Of course

2. No (but put Bugs in all towns)

3. Sure, something along those lines.

4+5. Drops are pretty broken, mostly a problem with loot tables for the mob / stat range.

Don't think I'm trying to put this thread down in anyway, but

All these suggestions and loads more have been discussed and added to and loads of the community have put there input and thoughts into them in the suggestion section. They have been dissected by us all over the weeks, months that they surfaced but guess what they all have in common............

Not one word from either GM on any of the topics, no communication what so ever.

Nice idea but too much work to implement....

It would create too much in balance between builds or races....

Great idea, we'll see if possible to bring to the game.....

Things like the above would help the community to feel involved and know that there actually been heard or read, I know both GM's are busy with real life most of the time like the rest of us but the odd response to an idea brings hope to the community.

+1 to Raven and Capricorn. If there is a time / knowledge deficit for the game itself, it would be good to explore a channel where we can fill in some blanks and I'm sure there's no shortage of volunteers to do that.

I think that some of the work should be delegated to the community so that we can tangibly support the game as opposed to just blindly throwing money into an unaccountable donations bucket.

I've seen loads of people offer help with updating database for dropfiles etc that could be done and then vetted before implementing to ensure the work's veracity.

Other ideas including limited power community event GM/forum mod (many favoring Raven/Foxtrck) could also easily be done. If somebody abuses their power they lose it simply as... allegedly that is at least partially responsible for Ghostlord living up to his name.

GMs have asked us to 'put our money where our mouth is' in the form of soliciting donations to support the server but if the health and continuity for the love of the game is the genuine goal maybe it is time they do the same by allowing more of a community effort beyond shelling out cash.

double drops doesn't mean u get 2 items at the same time... like 2 eps together.. or 2 med rubies.. it means that things drop 2x as often as usual.. not in 2's

I agree with all of this but the thing i think we need most in end game content. I really like nites sugestion that in pinned on the discord. And this could be done within a few hours from what i have read.

Everyone is just busy playing other games, Soma has always been a community based game, if there is no community there's no game, but that shouldn't stop anyone from farming to finish items etc.

I do agree that the game needs a bit of new content, maybe a new farming mob as mags only drop old stuff now that isn't really worth farming for ( and the shak wep drop rate is still v low)

I gave the Idea to Dan (Isylver) a while back about adding Crystal Beast a farming mob for end game purposes. I suggested using the same skin as mags but just making it blue.

Drop File

All Nega Weps
All Shak Weps
All Medium Gems
All Titus Armour
All Tabs
All Proc Upgrades.
Frogs
Herbs
Large Livers

Stats = 30% harder than current Magma Beast
Barr = 10% More

No Exploding lil whelps.
Spawn area - for debate.

End of the day capped players want to make max gear, so let them. I also think adding a RNG tab will be good so has the chance to add 1-2 str/dex and int in 12 upgraade and can go on armour and access. Would make for some intresting sets if you get lucky and will keep people instrested in stead of just 7% acc 7% eva and quit
