Always a sad time hearing a member of our Soma family passing regardless of who you are or the characters you played, may your soma star shine bright always.

My thoughts and prayers to your family and friends,

Rest in peace Paul.

On a more positive note and a serious suggestion - maybe we could have a little statue or gravestone/monument type thing in TYT or the such for fallen Soma players?

Without wanting to provoke some hysterical reaction; I actually think it would be cool if I died to be added as an event/mini-boss with a zombie or mummy type skin in memorial. Maybe even drop a special unique item so that the guy's memory can live on within the game he loved.

i will not reveal my personal history but i look at death bit differently. If you guys project that its low or insensitive im fine with that. and if my line is enough for you to judge a character not knowing me in real life it shows more of you than of me.

but yes depression is a serious and frequently overlooked matter.

Rom, just because you view or deal with death differently doesn’t give you a given right to make a crude joke in a time when people are upset.

It’s like saying because I have different view on racism I can make racist comments and jokes. It’s not appropriate regardless of what your views are.

Just hold your hands up and say sorry, it’s not hard.

This is all complete and total bullshit.

The guy made a light-hearted Soma related joke that the dude who died may have even enjoyed, given he obviously loved the game, when remembered at his high points as opposed to the tragic low that he, unfortunately, came to.

And whilst we're on it even racist jokes should be allowed. It is absurd to say that they shouldn't. Imagine comedy without Dave Chapelle, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy etc. all of whom have made millions of hilarious racist jokes.

Comedy and tragedy are well known to be two sides of the same coin - you can't go around demanding censorship and apologies from the guy.

You didn't like the joke, that is fair enough, you've made that clear. He's free to say what he likes and you're free to think of it whatever you like. Move on.

People make jokes/comments that you don't always agree with or like - welcome to the internet.

I personally thought the joke was funny, but not in the circumstances.

Making light of someone taking their own life in any situation is unacceptable.

To be in that situation and to go through with it is something many of us will never have to experience, making of joke of someone’s suffering is wrong.
