Change is:

I would say moving all to range 1 may kill off any mages that currently hunt mags - now it will be significantly easier for melee but much much more difficult for mages to hunt. Haven't tried but it sounds like that's the change which I think is a little hasty considering the balance between mage & melee already is tipped in melee's favour.

Not sure why u think this. Mags..human 1s at least are easier for mages.They can use aoe's..kill several at a time..and with hi int, take little damage. Thank you for the modifications to the Magmas and whelps and obviously also for the Elder Magmas. Would you be good enough to consider a further modification? The Range 1 magic attack discriminates for knuckle users (probably sword too) whose characters focused more on dexterity during their development. Would it be possible to have the magic attack at Range 2-5 and melee attack at Range 1 to bring balance to the different character builds please? Melee Characters will still suffer Magic Attacks during the run up to the Magma and also from other close by Magmas so they do not escape the fiery wrath. I did run a comparison with other mobs (using knuckle) a while ago (posted in the Advisor Hall) and you can see from the table below that there is a huge gulf between Magmas and all other mobs. Bit confused here - the mags will now walk up to you to be in one range of you. Meaning everyone gets hit the same amount?
For clarity though it all needs to be the same range. Cant individually change them. |

they meant for you to change the aura's range soit would only cast it at range 1. now mages will have a harder time hunting mags

It's not just stone range 1, it's everything. So mags will interrupt mages constantly making them impossible to hunt productively whereas melee would benefit significantly from the change. I don't think the solution is giving mags a magic attack only either as that will be a bit hit to melee chars being able to hunt. I get the reasoning for changing the stone to range 1 but it looks like that's not possible without other, more significant, compromises in terms of huntability. You could always just remove stone from mags and keep on elder mags - again, get why this might not be a great option either as it makes mags a lot easier to hunt.
