Stop dcs healing/con

Author Content Date
Currently testing small changes that might help. Loads try resolution change etc. Dc'd every 5/10 mins like most but I tried a long shot today and on the comp that dc every 5/10 mins stayed online now 65 mins.
Other had not dc all day then did 1st time so did same on that comp my new way and since then has not dcd either. 2 comps not 2 on 1
Really think this may be the slight change that fixes the problem. If I find it do I share or give to the people who will no doubt kill me next week every hour? Share/sell/keep as seems to be working so what do you think?
This is something ingame to do not anything added external and if this dont fix it full sure helps bigtime

I actually think I found a fix for this. I noticed I didn't DC when soma was launched from my secondary hard drive, but always from my main hard drive I'd DC with healing/magic. I noticed on my secondary, soma launches with only 1 cpu core in use, and from the main it launches with all cores.

So my test was (and it fixed it for me)

1. Open soma as usual, then with soma opened press ctrl+alt+del and open task manager

2. Right click on myth of soma click go to details

3. Right click on myth of soma and click select affinity

4. If all CPU's are ticked, untick all of them apart from CPU 0

5. Click ok and hopefully that will stop dc'ing

This stopped any dc'ing for me, hopefully it will work for you.

Also resolution can cause a lot of stability issues, especially when you try and stretch the original 4:3 aspect ratio. I use 1024x768.

You'll probably have to do this each time you relaunch soma

Can't see how you wouldn't have the details tab, unless you're not an administrator and its somehow disabled to non admins

1024x768 res, fps cap to 60fps in the somadevlauncher.ini. Xp compatibility mode as well as 16bit colours on the somawindow.exe

Latest windows 10. I don't get any crashes with all cores enabled or just one core.

I do get slow down after about an hour when I plug in a second monitor and have to reset the client.

I've found it's was very stable for me in the past when I only had 1 monitor plugged in. Still got DCs every now and again, but went a good 7 days once without.

Yeah I remember on Esoma, you needed to set to windows 95 compatibility mode. You can do it on here but you need to bypass the launcher for it to actually launch the game, otherwise it doesn't launch it for me.

So set your new shortcut to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Myth of Soma\SomaWindow.exe" 51.79.98.95

or wherever your soma is located. Then set the compatibility mode of somawindow.exe to windows 95.
