I always thought it be cool if you couldn't see the people's name / guild that are not in your guild making it alot harder to be an alliance for example only nameplates show up from dl to me, everyone else has no name plate making it real hard for me to know who is who, obviously you could tactically use discord but this would only realistically work for letting the "allianced" guild know if your on stone or not to reduce who's hitting you. I'm not sure how much of an effort this is to implement but would mean anyone can turn up and no one would even know who is who and would reduce the possibility of being pked after for neutral people

Yeah it's the same for everyone though - and it's pretty obvious what class everyone is by looking at them

"RAVENSOUL"The guild village war mechanics are the same on this server as was on esoma, yet 20, 30, 40+ guilds were able to war freely.

It’s not the mechanics it’s the mentality of players.......

Esoma gvw was constantly packed with huge turnout every week, we had our rivalry but once the war was over we congratulated the winners and went back levelling with everyone, even those we may have attacked at the gvw. We used to laugh and joke while levelling with other guilds but what happened at gvw was left there till the next week.

On here if you attack certain players, they then come after you trying to hound you off the server......

Nightblades
Genesis
Sanctuary
Titans
Blackknights
Rebirth
Redhearted

Just to name a few were able to fight freely every week, if you own the guild village you should be able to handle the fact that every other guild on the server is attacking the owners to remove them to win the village for there own guild, but like I said it’s the mentality of players on this server that can’t comprehend it’s nothing personal it’s a guild war and what happens at the guild war should stay there till the next war.

Healthy rivalry is great, but the rivalry on here is disturbing and no good for the future of the game.

The main difference is you can pk on this server with no consequence.

The harshness of the esoma moral system is what kept alot of the fighting at bay.

I would agree to an a extent the moral system on here is way to easy unlike esoma, Pk still happened though on esoma.

It’s far too easy gaining moral on here plus holy waters are way too easy to obtain, remove the ability to extract them from spirit powders would be simple, and only have them drop from there respective mobs at a lower drop rate. Maybe the moral system could do with a rethink?

If you want things to be harsher on pkers moral wise not being able to do quest etc bring back death drops.

So was told to put some sort of a summary of discord discussion that has been had, and, while obviously this is not directly related to the topic of this thread, it does tie in quite closely to the way the posts have progressed so here we go.

The moral system was built fit for purpose for a game which this is now not anymore, the aspects of it of which I think are most relevant I will try to touch upon but there are probably countless more which I have missed or may over simplify so feel free to call me out on it.

PK'ing is part of the game no getting around it, more so in this game than it ever was in ESoma because it is a big part of the enjoyment when you are capped.

In my opinion the biggest part of the moral system in ESoma was dying always had a cost no matter what. Be it whether you were grey, devil moral, caught unawares or just straight up beat fair and square. Either you took a stat loss or you dropped. Pretty simple. If you PK'ed regularly and were Wicked or Devil you were absolutely fair game for everyone on the server to kill. It meant that to PK and be Devil or Wicked you were making a conscious choice to be at the mercy of the rest of the server should you choose to go down that route and all the repurcussions that came along with it.

However now with the economy for Barr being so incredibly overinflated resi scrolls are infinitely more prevalant than they ever were (remember when a herb from raps was a windfall and an SP was a fucking lottery win). So much so that if you are caught out of town without resi's/tp then really more fool you. On top of that you now relatively as standard have people with multiple characters maybe 1 pk'er if you are so inclined and one not, so all the benefits enjoyed by your non pk character can be passed to your pker who you only take out when you need and you can continue to hunt and go about your business as normal on your other. This was not a thing in ESoma, as for at least most of us I would say, you had one account you paid for with your main and probs 2 stores, as I wasnt shelling out the money for two accounts and more importantly, time, to get 2 high level characters. As we can all probably agree this is now not much of a concern at all.

So when you take into account all the changes between this and ESoma (again vastly oversimplified) what is the most prevalent issue that most would have with current pk system. Capped PK characters waltzing through lower level zones and obliterating anyone who is on the other side of the rivalry.
OK how do you fix this

1) Raise the level bracket you can pk within Easiest to implement probably, lets say (pick random number here) to within 5 levels, I am gonna wager that a capped, geared char is still going to mincemeat a char 5 levels lower that is less well geared. So solves issue somewhat not exactly a fix though.

2) Make moral harder to gain. As stated above not really a downside to being Devil morale anymore for one if you die well..resi other than a blemish on the KD not much of a setback.

3)....ye be honest I'm struggling now so anyone else please chime in with more that I have more than likely missed.

Now flip side, like I said in ESoma you die there is always a penalty so meant that the risk/reward for pking
was either making a character lose stats and time to regain them + bragging rights for the kill or potential a nice drop item and again aforementioned bragging rights. Once again an over inflated economy and abundance of resi scrolls again neutralises this with 0 stat loss also if you are caught without resi, just time lost then.

Like I said this is probably vastly over simplified (and massively padded out), but coming from one whose 0 kill/countless death count is laughable now, honestly the implementation of the immunity system is by far the best system I can think of to round out the edges of fitting a square peg in a round hole. I've just come back after nearly 3 years off the game and I remember getting chased away from Toxic Raro spawn in D3 then having to hunker in town for a bit cuz couldn't go anywhere without being traced. This system is just tonnes better. Is it perfect, no, but I personally can't think of anything better without a vast overhaul.

As a final added point though, ye 100% the immunity bug need fixing.

Off topic rant over please feel free to dissect or ignore.

If they made moral only gainable from mobs in your stat range like with xp on dsoma that would fix it imo

"NITEFALL"If you want things to be harsher on pkers moral wise not being able to do quest etc bring back death drops.

If moral was slow enough to make people think twice about loosing it I think death drops could come bk

Death drops won’t come back, in some of the wars there’s like 50 deaths. No one would pvp because of the risk of dropping a decent item
