I had the idea that, for a price you could remove upgrades from an item.

E.G you get bad toes on a bow, pay SD/1mil etc. to remove all 5 toes.

I realise technically that the server probably doesn't remember what stats an item had before the upgrade ie the recoil a now had at each toe and to begin with, so that's a hurdle, but otherwise it doesn't seem impossible.

Maybe make use of jade's? Large jade to remove upgrades?

na, it was put in so people have a chance with some +2 gear

I suggested this before. Have it as a very rare item like a reset scroll and give it a % to break make it a 200 craft skill in what item it is.
So if tou want to get 5 toes or az pills from a wep u need 200 wep skills and you have 33% chamce of it being successful.
So if you upped a rare item for example and now are working towards a better version of this you cud try get back your upgrades.

It would mean poor rolled az weps and lower tagged armors withup grades could now go back into the economy.
And its a nice little reward for crafters.
Who have got to 200 skill.
Would make farming mats more desirable.
And pushing to craft more.
