I'd like to start by saying I am not involved in any PvP or PK fights or anything so my opinion is that of an outsider and just going off of what I see and what i hear.

Lately I've seen a lot of posts about making life harder for a PKer and not much about increasing the reward along with the risk. It would be a shame if there was less of the good PvP due to a big climb back from devil or not being able to buy things at devil or whatever the case, so I was wondering what could be done to increase the risk and the reward factors in pvp, it would have to punish for killing people totally out gunned but reward for killing those on a level playing field or someone who is much stronger than you.

As we all know level is not an indicator of ones strengths with the game being so far along and items being plentiful for the bigger players and there alts etc, is there anyway it could work on k/d ratio such as pos equal to the victims kill difference for example someone who has more deaths than kills wouldn't reward any pos but someone with 304 kills 110 deaths would reward 194 pos sort of thing?

I'd like to hear others opinions on this as again I'm not a pvper but i do enjoy the fact PvP is part of the game.

I dont disagree with what your saying it would be good to come up with an idea that also rewards pk because after all if there isnt any then it soon gets boring..

How ever going off KD i imagine opens it up to all sorts of abuse either greiffing hunters more regularly or KD boosting?

Not sure what would be the best option but im sure somebody else will have some ideas too

Maybe even something could be done with the Known as title that currently is unused?

Full agree, it needs a pvp point system that gives points for same level kills, higher points for a higher level kill, and minus points for lower level kills

sounds fun but a system is needed then to check someones level and a big penalty for 'abusing' kill count

if you was going to the effort to put in a pvp system, then surly they could put stuff in to stop abuse, like less point each kill, and then possibly negative points for repeat kills, and then you could always automaticly turn the players pk off if they get to much negative points in a set time frame ect ect (and when your fully in the minus points and pks off for that player, it could reward 1 point every hour until its back to 0 and pk on ect ect (if its done right then it could in theory replace immunity)

If valour points system was used then in theory it could be set to work like POS except that for a lot of repeat kills on the same person too close together it starts to go into negative so you start to lose valour

Yeah you could kill your mates but it would just be taking away their valour like POS does so who cares

Immunity could be turned off then :O

Kaz suggestion makes it very much like wow honour system which works well
Only negative is that doesn't stop you being forever killed, unless they could do it so after say 3 kills from same person it lowers your points instead

Sorry luther didn't read yours properly turns out we made the same suggestion :p

Remove the PK feed and people will have a lot more fun in PK. People won't mind dying if it's just their K/D which can be private. It will also promote people videoing PK'ing to spread around.

There's a snag though. A top level player can only get negative points.

Apoints system without the negative. Given the level system for pvp thats currently in place why not have some sort of points system that works on that. Say if your 125 and you kill at 125 you get 16 points, 124 15 points and so on untill killing someone 16 levels below rewards 1.
Have some sort of NPC that rewards where you can spend your points - obviously rewards will have to scale in cost, and to stop people farming there alts make anything that abuses the system a bannable offence.
Or even make it a weekly cumulative where its tiered. Say top 10% get chance at hard+ nega, top 20% gor weps or something along them lines with upgrades.

There does need to be some form of reward for pvp, given the current state of it. Especially since there is only negatives for being devil moral

Not being able to enter towns, unable to trade direct without a significant risk, more expensive pots etc, no crafting, no access to quests (if devil gets a lot deeper, this could be a big issue), less access to warps, targetable in open world 24/7 (including places such as merc close to town where devil cant retaliate without guards jumping on them).

Just to name a few im sure a devil moral person could list more.

The only real ‘hardship’ of a pker Listed above Is that they can be attacked without penalty , which is how it should be for a scrub who has been slaughtering lower levels and hassling people.
