Use hero rings to change the meta

I am sure mostly everyone is bored of the current bow/axe or staff/axe meta.

Hero rings could potentially change that by adding different rings with weapon skill requirements.

Not spent time on numbers, but an example would be

10-18 attack
3% acc
40hp
Requires 200 sword skill to equip

7-14 attack
2% acc
20hp
Requires 200 axe skill to equip

Obviously the above are just a way to help change the meta in my opinion, the actual stats and values would be down to the GM

Any thoughts on why it wouldnt work or how it could be made better?

Be nice to get some more range1 pvp and also stop that mage stoner meta. I guess would relic of swordsman / archer / spear could be a thing for mages to choose what other weapon to skill in and gain mage specific stats to help equip rings.

Dont forget this isnt nerfing the current mechanics as nothing is actually changing. But by making better rings for melee and mages with hero access it might shift up the meta

On zuzu if i had to lose my axe skill to gain spear. To equip ma / weak / defence ring then i would have some tough decisions to make about the true balance and build i wanted for my character.

Lower skill cap back to 370 or something so it isnt uber easy to swap between and make people actually choose wisely

Maybe add md onto the chars that choose range one weapons?

skill cap 400 (increase individual caps to 250/300) 5th aura = 175/200 skill? then u need to choose between going max skill for extra attack bonus. or keeping skills lower for multiple aura usage

+1 to Zuzu.

Issue with 5th axe is that its the only CC in the game. Introducing more CC will add more variety, eg, adding the CTF slow (walk for 2/3 seconds) and re introducing flinch. Maybe a range 1 weapon can cause a stun for a second or two.

The key is CC. Every pvp game of this type has CC or you can’t really get kills.

My advice would be introducing and mixing the auras around for a start.

Axe doesn’t need 3rd aura as it has 5th. But what axe does need is an automatic hit aura for damage.

Give axe a double damage aura for 3rd axe, replace sword hp regeneration with 3rd axe and give knux/spear the Ctf slow. Bow gets nothing.

make 5th 200skill and revert skill cap to 370 so you have to pick what one you really want

I think making class specific rings allows the gms to balance the game the way they want to without having to mess too much with current tier armours or weps.

We can look at why people dont play certain classes and adapt that around a 200 skill required set of rings.

That way theres no skill caps, no changing auras from 3rd to 5th etc as mentioned

Is sword just not strong enough? Give its main stat high attack on the ring etc.
