"LUPISCUS"just askin for an occasional x2 craft or drop weekend.. like everyone for the last 7 years has enjoyed and benefitted from .. keep ya hair on My hairs firmly on, thanks and that's my point. Any x2 event will dilute the content available. I'm not having a go here, this is simply an observation of this game for the last, 8 years I think it is? Any x2 event is a detriment to the server in all honesty and comes across as a lazy solution to a lack of end game content. As an example, the letter event for halloween/easter is much better than a flat x2 event. The letter event doesn't dilute the content (levelling) and you can select which items are added into the event, rather than a blanket x2 drop on everything from essences to diamonds to nega weapons. I'm not saying they have to be all singing and dancing events, anything is better than x2. It's really is not good for the longevity of this game. Edit. Did the maths. 21/10/2020 - 8/11/2020. 18 days. 3/10/2020 - 11/10/2020. 7 days. 21/8/2020 - 1/9/2020. 11 days. 27/6/2020 - 29/6/2020. 2 days. 17/5/2020 - 24/5/2020. 7 days. 8/4/2020 - 4/5/2020. 26 days 6 x2 events in 2020. 71/315 days have been a x2 event this year so far. That's every 4 1/2 days there's a x2 event.

"BRAINSTORM" Yes, I am a store character because posting on mains only ever results in a shit storm. Also, does it matter if i'm posting on a store character? I'm being constructive with my comments. I'm trying to make logical points showing where the good/bad parts are at the moment and how it can be improved. That's why we are all here isn't it? To play a game we all enjoy? Increase by 10 levels Make XP slow so it gives people another 9 months/year worth of levelling. No more x2 events.

Talking about longevity when the server has been up for 7+ years now... wow.
You could continue to carry on your esoma stance (the need for slower levels(?)) on a server where that simply isn't possible - why? There is a vast range of players, all with the same opportunity to reach cap thanks to the 2x events, and previous permanent 2x rates. This isn't the year 2000 where people can simply smash 16 hours+ on a game at the same mob for a minor stat improvement, that's the reason the game has changed. Everyone (mostly) has grown up, and does not want to spend 9 months to a year to gain 10 levels. In fact I can guarantee that if the rates weren't as they were now 1 year ago from now (permanent double rates, consistent 2x events) the UC would be even lower than what it is now, possibly even "dead". That's because the bulk of the community are casual players, not the handful of hardcore players who will smash levels in a few weeks. They might not post on forums or even view forums, but they certainly exist. Even if the GMs decided to consider your request, more and slower levels, no more 2x events ... 9-12 months later you'll be in the same position. Only so much content a single man can create, in his off time, to satisfy a game where not everyone will be satisfied. Take what you can get at this stage.

"DRY"Talking about longevity when the server has been up for 7+ years now... wow. Of course I am. 7 years is a long time but you want the game to go on for another 7, don't you? I'm not continuing on with any "esoma stance". I'm saying slower levels will mean people have content for longer. Meaning once the level cap is in place, the GM's can work on other things to keep people entertained once they have hit the level cap. There is a vast range of players, all with the exact same opportunity to reach the level cap. It takes time. That's what Soma has always been about. Who has the most amount of time to invest. It's the same in 99% of MMO/RPG's online. Nobody is forcing anyone to grind for 16 hours. That's never been the case. There are people who have played for years and don't hardcore, looking at you, Linny. Then there are players who have been capped, capped a 2nd character, capped gear and still login for 8+ hours a day to play. Why would anyone stop playing because they can gain more stats? Your argument makes 0 logical sense. If they want to PK, they can. The stats would be so slow that there would be no massive (dis)advantage in the short space of time because stats would be slow. There's only a finite amount of levels so they can't go TOO far ahead like back in the day when someone was level 50 and someone else was level 90. That's not the case. Lets say, hypothetically, you are right and in 9-12 months we will be back in the same position. Surely you'd want to be in that position in 9-12 months, not in 3-6 months if the rates were quicker as you are suggesting? As you said, there's only so much content 1 man can create. Can you see how you've countered your own argument?

They'll be players capped in 5 days or less mainly because of the rates being too quick and 300-400 recoil weps making lvlin insanely fast even on non rested.
In a month or so they'll be players asking for another cap raise. These days players just want instant gratification then wonder why they're bored when capped. Especially when soma has ZERO endgame "fluff" - no instances, no big long quest chains, no pvp league, no storyline/lore to the updates etc etc.

tbh...
with 2 weeks.. ish before the next update, and no1 proly knowing what's in it.. or what rates to expect or what might be new.. maybe it's best to let Fin get on and perfect what he's got in mind.. and save the criticisms or contructive ideas for when the new stuff is implemented.. no point bombarding the gm's with new ideas, moans and complaints now.. wait and see !!

This is the exact problem we have right now. Cap was raised not too long ago and people had capped within a few weeks. That could have been months worth of content, even for the hardcore players. Please make the gains slow, like high levels in Soma should be. I was doing a level every 2 days on unrested at 120+. That's not sustainable with a 1 man development team.
