This is how the game was and gives others ability to get closer to hit from range 1 as per video posted.

Aoe slows, blinks , make all melee weps range 2 maybe spear even range 3, more cures with long cooldowns that can be used to save a ally from 5ths etc. Possibilities are endless but obviously the more skill involved the shitter omerta n ufg would be so 🤷🏻♂️

Considering flinch was used in esoma and people weren’t running around with 300/400 rec bows in hsoma and 600/700 rec bows in dsoma.
All it’ll do is promote archer, as an even more over powered class, it won’t ‘equal it so you can hit archers’ archers rocking max dex access will only be able to get hit by similar archers so all that does is drive mega dex sets to slow people down... If it’s brought back, mechanic needs to change as I fear it’ll only benefit once class. There was some good suggestions about percentage wise, maybe bring it back but archers cannot cause it? Just some additional ideas. Also this is a forum discussion, why does it always descend into UFG/Omertà vs DL/Mutiny - it’s a fucking discussion, if someone doesn’t agree and provides their side of a discussion it’s what it’s here for - enough already or the cheap shots and railroading - this comment is aimed at everyone before another shit response is made!!!!

it was removed, due to visually showing a player in 1 location as movement stopped updating when being hit. certain players had removed flinch themselves so they would show at 1 location but then be hitting someone / 5th'n them in what seemed like many spaces away. removing it to make it even was the short term solution. the mechanics behind flinch were supposed to slow a person slightly while displaying the animation but with the animation constantly showing with fast weps u would be showing the flinch movement on ur own screen and basically be stopped in a spot for a certain amount of time until u reached that location your own screen before it would send the next movement. (so bugged) what should have happened is what i proposed before. while showing the animation you still move but at a reduced speed between walk and run. thus you wont have the animation repeating over and over and you will reach the destination coords on ur own screen so the next movement will be sent.

I see far to many discussion threads dissolve into guild vs. guild arguments, a discussion should be a discussion. Discussion of and item with suggestions, proposals and thoughts. I’ve seen it across many threads. Just stating an observation. Flinch worked in original esoma, the problem is now the games evolved passed the original intent - I point back to the fact of having such high speed items the flinch mechanism will be permanent for the lower evasion/dex chars. Agree with banning abusers of the client, and encrypting data files to stop client side abuse - or making it obvious when they are edited (ping through server etc...) I know other games run anti cheat software in the background which i assume compares files against the original ones? But something like that would work nicely.

Fair enough.
On that note I agree with your general statement about people divulging into shit talk, rather than engaging in an actual constructive discussion too often. Pharma has offered a great breakdown and solution, IMO that is the way to go with this issue - unless people see a problem that I've missed with his proposal. Anti-cheat stuff definitely needs to be the priority right now. All these people cheating must not realise the damage they will do to the game (server) they apparently love, eventually - or they're just dickhead's.

Rather than flinch, or at minimum alongside flinch, let's have blink and ctf slow for range 1 classes and a directional teleport for mages all with appropriate cool downs etc. D Soma PvP is just totally dog because of the class lock.
Also I think that there should be stones like those at gvw/wow near major hunting spots that spawn a level appropriate boss/mini-boss but only those in a party with stone holder can stay in/enter the set area for the spawn. It would encourage more fighting less running in the open world and be a nice little PvP mini-event every couple of hours or so.
