Just made a simple observation, might've been an oversight when creating the new monsters (Demented Warthogs and Crimson Apai).
The dex that the new monsters have (defence dex) is 110/120 for the hog/apai, which for an axer/spearman is quite high, even for level 90+ standards, giving quite a low hit-rate on them. /// edit /// This has been remedied to 100/105dex, thanks iSylver/Finito/Whoever did that ^^ The attack dex of the new monsters is far too low, sitting at only 130dex (hog) and 135dex (apai). This allows any archer or knuckler over level 85 to have in the region of 80+% evasion on them. I tested this out 2 nights running with Bomboklat and myself, where he could take on several hogs and apai at once and be hit barely enough for him to need to pot (despite the fact that when they do hit, they do hurt). I would say that by the low 90's an archer would have close to 100% evasion on them whereby the endgame melee monster can be trivialised. Just a little feedback! That aside, I like the fact they don't drop like flies, they really feel like an endgame monster with how long each one takes to kill. I actually think it's a good thing that the % they give is slower than WBM, as WBM give % far too quickly (though it's too late to do anything about WBM now :p) I would suggest their attacking dex be increased to 500, preventing all classes from 'cheesing' them. If anyone else that has tried to hunt the hogs/apai would like to chime in and give their feedback, please do. Thanks for reading!

Just did a few hours at hogs using my brother's knuckler and they don't hit anywhere near enough, or hard enough considering they're supposed to be a step up in difficulty to WBM.

Surely increasing the attacking dex to 500 would smash any dex classes making them unhuntable?

A level 100 Axer will take the same damage (min dmg) from Crimson Apai as a level 95 Archer.
The only difference is that the Axer will have to pot and repair more often because the Archer has substantially more dex and so never gets hit. In essence, a level 95 archer will find Crimson Apai much easier than a level 100 Axer. EVIL_JR just as an example, can take on 3 Apai before needing to pot. GENEFUSER has to pot for each Apai. Upping their attack DEX to 500 will make the playing field even between the classes, which is the least that should be done considering they were introduced solely for STR users.

DEX classes aren't even supposed to hunt them (Apai). I did hunt them for a bit, and it is a pain in the ass (I wouldn't mind so much if their "on-screen position" didn't bug out so often). I think they need to be made melee range, or range significantly reduced (keep aggro range the same).

Increasing Apai offensive dex is on the list of things to do.

When you melee them and their position bugs you need to reposition yourself 1-8 times just to be able to hit them, all the time be wailed on by loads more Apai. Don't comment if you don't know what you're talking about.

All im saying is its a bug with ranged monsters that's happening elsewhere.

Apai have a high min dmg, can't be tanked naked (yet :p), and are a melee mob. The only similarity between nightmare and apai is they both have range. They destroy dura, and eat through pots no matter your str whivh really is frustrating.
