From a crafters point of view the game has had many tweaks, improvements since esoma which have drastically improved the enjoyment of this part of the game.
The ability to let players see how there upgrade attempts work out at the anvil is one of the biggest satisfying improvements for me the most, but ultimately crafters just want to craft and yes we are never truly satisfied. My requests are what I believe every crafter and every player will benefit from. Shields - the last craftable shield is the dark shield... We now have... Knight shield Tower shield Gargoyle shield Felforged Bulwark Vafer Scale Whould it be possible to make all shields up to Felforged Bulwark or Gargoyle Shield to be craftable please. We now have Ancient armour/robes, could Nightmare armour be made craftable please. I would also like to suggest for our brother and sister crafters of the devil world to allow them grim bow/x grim bow tiers to be made craftable and any below tiers that arnt already craftable to be made craftable please. Could we also look into making it possible to disassemble all craftable items and there dropped equivalent to be made to disassemble, this ability will help crafters to gather mats, plus it would give a reason to picking up them untag items especially if they return mag mat tier mats.

And perhaps if you do decide to disassemble tagged items, they would give more mats than untagged.

+1 for the disassemble idea.
I’d also like to be able to combine all my Tablets of Lesser Evils into ToEs... but that’s just me being greedy 😂 |

"FEEBLE"And perhaps if you do decide to disassemble tagged items, they would give more mats than untagged. I would have to disagree purely on the basis that when I craft an item weapon, armour or accessory I use the same amount of mats in the item’s recipes regardless of what comes out untag or tagged it doesn’t require more mats the higher the tag in producing the item.

speaking from a wep crafters perspective.. the last time crafting weps was 'exciting' and actually worthwhile... was
when the apus tier weps became possible.. an apus bow as good as a decent stinger was a great incentive to farm the bones and put some extended effort into making those.. the shak tier weps was a welcome addition .. and although needing stacks of bones was at least a method of crafting a few.. though they didn't have any xtra stats above dropped weapons...maybe a lil more dura.. but not as 'exciting' a prospect. Now the shak weps drop fairly freely..any incentive to craft them has long disappeared. What might be needed is an extension to the crafting cap of 200 on any 1 skill... so that the stats could be over and above the dropped items when u craft them.. but would proly need a serious speed up to the crafting speeds before any enthusiasm to do that. There's lots of scope to expand on the crafting system here.. it is pretty good. But that's proly a huge undertaking to work it all out numerically wise and implementation wise for the gm's. Maybe a future patch update in the future.. Though.. as most items drop without too much hassle.. crafting weps to 250 skill doesn't have much appeal atm. As regards disassemble.. getting a few eps, rubies or whatever back from upgraded items would be welcome.. but a few bits of orc metal , wood or linen isn't really necessary.

Disassemble re-work would be great, anything over Stinger teir / Bone giving mag mats back would be a great way to get more of them into the game. Big project, making everything disassemble-able, but it'd be worth it. Unsure if it's ever been looked at, so far? - been on my watch list for years, expected an overhaul.
Adding crafting recipe for anything 1-2 teirs below the 'best' items just makes sense, to keep crafters in a good position. However, when it got to the point that you could only hold 5 attempts worth in your bagweight, it was extremely annoying for me, as the 'spamming for tags' is the way with crafting. /Bean

mag mats are now dropping from trolls/vafers and the top end int mobs.. but not enough to get ur teeth into any meaningful crafting .. if these had another increase it would help.. tho they only been introduced recently..
and ye holding enough mats for 4-5 at a time doesn't help especially.. when, with 200 craft skill, 3/4 or 4/5 would fail quite often. crafting them with those success rates...and disassembling even for mag mats would be pretty hard work... and then after the disassemble to get enough mats to craft others.. and end up with fails... pff.. sounding serious hard graft. especially when nega weps drop at vafers fairly reasonably as well as elsewhere

Yeah the bag weight and material volume was one of the biggest put off in time to reward ratio. Now that stinger/psycho tier is crap i think the recipes should be shrunk drastically. Also a big look at the tag system on crafting is a must.
I was trying to make some intense t axes/short bows for fast skilling weps and i was going through untold amounts of mats without seeing any intense or above which is a little extreme as its a bloody t axe. I literally had to resort to combining the hard-epics to get some which ofc the epics failed like 15 times in a row and you eventually get a sub optimal recoil anyway and then go through a few dozen toes for it to fail. Now swap that with stinger+ recipes volumes, mag mats and not having 80 skill over recipe for capped 80% success rate and you can see its flawed. I did once suggest the ability to pack crafting sets. So you buy a weight one item called "stinger pack empty" from npc for novelty value, go to gm/wh take out mats right click the pack and it takes the recipe from bag and creates "stinger pack full" weight 1. You then go forge and drag the pack in and produce. Very simple solution to ridiculous weights. I think we need higher % rates for tags on crafting, it should be an alternative to hunting not a replacement or waste of time. I would say everything below stinger should have high rates so its easy to produce int-mythic. Then at stinger and above make it way more likely to make a good tag but not back to back int-mythic. I am against any crafting cap raise, nobody wants to do that. As for new recipes, weps - I wouldnt be against nega being crafted due to the mats needed as you wont be getting a tag above hard/rare anyway. Faster at vafers by a mile. Armor - Would very much like to see titus craftable, trading for it is a real ball ache and you just cannot get good bases for best in the slot upgrades. Nm - goes without saying. Shields up to bulwark. Accessory - Due to the rework of shanis, warp necklaces have become starved, they are as rare as valk studs when i farm valks, they dont drop any better at other mobs too. WB stud seeing as untagged vafer matches intense anyway. Good for low str chars to have access to this slot seeing as lvl 100 is a long time for hero. Magic earring, hugely unpopular due to its low dura but for those of us who have the srs we manage/put up with it. This item could see great value with crafting skill increasing its dura. Perhaps even buff the dropped ones dura so we can craft tags and combine up. otm - regular mats on these. Valk stud - id be happy to have this with mag mats as that would balance the tags. Necro sting - same as before the mag mats would be the balance. Troll rings - same as above. +6 soul accs - probably highly controversial but ill put it anyway. Would be happy with an extreme recipe like 1 large dia + 200 mag mats a try perhaps even more costly. Id like to see warp neck, vortex earring, war beast stud, magic earring, otm, valk stud, necro sting, troll rings. As for disassemble id like for the gold rocks to stay without having to drag each time, its very esoma like atm gotta drag 1 rock, 1 item a time. Allow rocks to stay without repeatedly dragging and right click to send item to the top or better yet a mass disassemble entire bag in one click would be amazing.

always a pleasure to read your posts flick :)
Disassemble is one of the best skills a crafter can learn and use, it’s underrated, underused, and has been overlooked constantly, it really needs looking at to allow crafters to get the best out of items. Lupi sod off with increasing craft cap to 250 in a craft lmfao I would agree with flick, lupi, lord grim the recipes need to be reduced to make them practical, otherwise can you just imagine if nega tier weapons ever become craftable going on the last few tiers on mat increases, you might just be able to take enough mats for one attempt. I would also say the accessories that lord grim posted are worth being made craftable or at least 90% of the items. As for the soul accessory maybe make the +4 and +5 craftable over the next year, year an half so that there is still that top tier of +6 uncraftable. The extra mobs dropping the mag mats is much appreciated and welcomed but they just don’t drop enough 1-3 at a time is demoralising after 5-6 hours and you still haven’t enough for one attempt of a shak weapon.

well..maybe the skill reqs to craft shak weps could be reduced to 140ish wep skill , then we could craft some a little better than dropped1's would be possible and scale down the reqs for lower tier weps, and the guys with less skill can craft some nice bofs/ apus etc.. would be easier than crafting to 250 skill ofc
reduce the mats req by half..and we're in business maybe x

The following are the last four tiers of bows/xbow to craft
Psycho crossbow - Metal 74, wood 83, leather 71, bones 62 Stinger - Metal 42, wood 66, leather 40, bones 48 Apus - Metal 21, wood 22, leather 17, bones 15 Bow of force - Metal 13, wood 18, leather 7, bones 8 Personally the BoF and Apus mat wise seem fine, then stinger and psycho goes crazy amounts..... Psycho crossbow requires 290 mats per attempt Stinger requires 196 mats per attempt Apus requires 75 mats per attempt BoF requires 46 mats per attempt From BoF to Apus requires - 8 metal, 4 wood, 10 leather, 7 bones more per attempt From Apus to stinger requires - 21 metal, 44 wood, 23 leather, 33 bones more per attempt From stinger to psycho crossbow requires - 32 metal, 17 wood, 31 leather, 14 bones per attempt

Let’s not forget the crazy prizes players are trying to charge for mag mats too.....
If a player was to do the same and charge for there epic, intense crafted stinger bow you would be looking around 6-8 small diamonds value wise. The UC can’t sustain crafters to craft, the players farming, the players levelling, the players doing quests can’t sustain the crafters due to the low drop rates and numbers of mats dropped. Biggest part of Soma for me is the crafting, and I can’t craft. The tag system needs tweaking, 200 skill crafters are plenty these days and I’m sure all would agree the amount of tags we actually make are woefully low. Apology if these posts look like I’m having a dig, I’m not, I just want to play the crafter I always have been and enjoy This great game of Soma.

In terms of crafting better than dropped tags when it comes to shak weaps, I’ve crafted rare P bows with the same attack as an average epic. So it can be done. It just takes so long when you can only craft a handful per run.
