Let's check the racial balance.
HSOMA - low damage
DSOMA - high damage

HSOMA - TORE , TOE , SS = 3
DSOMA - AZA = 1

Speed upgradeable up to HSOMA +8
Speed upgradeable up to DSOMA +5

HSOMA - Class-specific weapons can be worn
DSOMA - Can wear one class weapon

HSOMA - Stone and combination magic attack possible
DSOMA - Can attack one skill

Personally, I think the balance is right now.
Conversely, they cannot kill each other by increasing their defense or HP. Then the game will be boring, right?
Rather, increase the damage of the new weapon more.

Low damage? What number’s have you been looking at? Damage is off the scale both sides right now.

The percent system is pretty effective in fixing a lot of RVR issues, should focus on each race’s balance against their own race and let the % system do it’s job.

If damage is reduced from off the scale crazy, where everyone gets dropped in 2 seconds by new weapon’s, to requiring teamwork and co-ordination then people will be more willing to engage and PVP will be a matter of skill again - rather than sheer ridiculous damage number’s.

‘Increase the damage of new weapon’s’ I’m astounded tbh.

I'm not a fan of balancing through the upgrade system by introducing new upgrade items.

If you are introducing new upgrade items to help balance an issue (i.e needing more Def), then my view is just sort the base issue. The game doesn't need more upgrade items.

My favourite ideas thus far:
Increasing hp
Introducing larger hp pots
Making new armour easier to obtain
Restrict/change how the weapons can be upgraded
Possibly give a buff to the defence of armour/robes a tier down from valour

new upgrade will further fuel the economy by having new items made and older items cycled / sold to others

"EDICIUS"

fix thornified proc so that when it procs you dont still take the melee damage.

This proc is so useless that a quest was added to trade in thorns. I hope what this person means is that if there is say a piece that is 3%, you don't take 3% of that damage and that 3% is returned to attacker. Not how it is done in other games but would be far more effective.

theres a few ways it could work.

take 0 damage from that specific hit when it procs and does damage back depending on int or a % of the damage that was ignored.

or depending on total % of thornified total on armours etc and reduce damage by that % if it procs and return the reduced damage back / or do damage back depending on int

current damage etc taken makes it pretty useless atm
