Creating an economy

As it currently stands, there isn’t much in the way of trading going on at the moment.

Can we have a discussion as to how to kick start it again? Maybe some quests which require lesser items which can be handed in for items of more value? For example 10 large sapphires for 1 large diamond.

This is just a basic example of the kind of thing I’m thinking.

Any ideas are more than welcome and fingers crossed we can put forward the ideas to the GM’s to try and make life on soma a little more enjoyable and rewarding.

add a bit of zing by

1. permanent rested till lev 100 .. would encourage a few to make new characters for different builds maybe..

2. 1.5x drops permanently.. might ease the way for more trading..

and ofc wait patiently for Fin to work his magic on the horde mode

Drop rates need increasing perma, that’s clear for everyone to see.

As for free rested to 100 I think it’s a terrible idea. You’ve already got several new chars being made to farm valour and giving them quick access to level 100 for a lot of quests isn’t a good idea.

Bring back barr economy, it’s better with the needed use for valour. But would be good to instigate a auction/sales board so you can afk sell, load your stuff in. Again if the economy was barr it would mean it fluctuates with what is available at the time…

Increase drop rate and barr drop rates from bosses and end game mobs… boss should drop like 100k… end game mobs should be a profit when hunting.

Removes dependency on sd/dt/rubies etc…

I deny what you say. Is it because the transaction is not active and the bulletin board is quiet because there are no items?
Who would trade items and give resources to an enemy in a war? Even a child would know that. The human world and the devil world are clearly divided now. They deal mainly among themselves.
And one more thing, some Koreans in the human world are gradually causing various problems while playing games in the devil world. I feel like someone who was close to me is contributing to the work.

further to above : simple.. under lev 100's don't get valour drops

or hell troll+ mele and wasp+ int mobs only drop them

give all them budding under 100's a goal to aim for

This feels a very negative post, some solutions would be good. Hence a actual auction or sales board where the item is posted for the value you want not just posted on the board randomly. For example dealing between each other, if it’s anonymous you won’t know and you’ll trade. Hence why I believe using barr as the currency is centralised and removes the reliance on certain gems… we need a consistent trading platform… at the minute because everyone is making mages and archers on dsoma it’s proc/mac/ddt/cdt type tabs… if this was barr trade they’d be high sale value and say me a level 105 wanting some swords which are a lot less in barr value. It’ll help everyone.

It benefits those who can farm more, but the chilled player who gets the odd tab will be happy they can get something for an up they don’t need…

Can't you get stinger tier using valour though? So that'd be alot lower level mobs surely.

duno if u can get stinger tier weps with valour .. aint looked tbh

if you can.. that would seem to be not necessary as they aint valour weps... and stinger tier weps drop plentifully from normal mobs.. valour weps.. don't

I suggested a big move around between valour and the Minton guy.

For me trading is flat on its ass right now and it's pretty obvious to see why ....

Usercount, It's low it has been for a while.
New items, no way of trading the way they're purchased if valour was tradable would we see some trading, im not sure. But just look at the new upgrades and items/weapons in game.

All proc is now useless no one using it anymore. the monsters dropping proc have been doing so for over a year and everyone has 5+ sets. (maybe release the cap to 8)

New weapons/armours have made all weapons below them pointless, as intended so there's no trading going on there.

Only thing I see people upgrading is SD for SS and Double tabs and the tabs/tears/mystical frags they get they're not trading because there is only 4 items worth any value ....

And who's stupid enough to trade a new item?

I personally think a new economy should come through the new weapons and armours. With all upgrades needing to be done at a new anvil in the Throne Room. A good chance to balance everything out. New drops. New upgrades etc etc rebalance the game along the way.

I don't know if it is too late for this now obviously with the weapons/armours being released already but something to think about for the next tier!

under 100's don't get valour drops....

increase valour drops to 100+ players...


get some of this new shit into the game....

4-5 months now... this new patch valour etc....

needs speeding up a bit...

up to lev 100 perm rested... get some zing into the game..get new players/ characters going....

maybe

get some catch up going on.. to prepare for the big cap + of 135 to 150 ...
slow some stuff down and make a game of it to last 12 months or more

Also : new armour is a little underwhelming.....
maybe make it similar to the vafer scales where they add stats to ur base stats..
have a choice of +5 int/dex/str as a basic starter.... then add to it what u want

The comments on this thread do not make great reading do they.

Basically, dear new players - we understand that the game is slow and you need a lot of time to catch up and actually play the end game. We suggest that you get a xp boost to level 100 but whilst you invest your time you do not get a chance to get anything to help you when you reach the end game

PS good luck when you hit 100 and the grind starts.

In the meantime, we are going to get all these boosted drops we wanted so when you hit max level you are so far behind again that you needn't bother to level in the first place.

Quite simply, players drive the economy and there appears to be a shortage of new players. Surely you try to boost numbers before the end game. If that doesn't work you may as well start the game at 135 and have a free for all.

after that ye...... same stuff as everyone.... work ur ass off to get stuff..
