is crafted md better than base with higher skill?

I’m sure the md does increase but not as much as the df on mage armour, can’t remember if the epic sorcery set I crafted moons ago had like 1-0 or 0-1 higher md over dropped equivalent.
It should increase slightly, easiest way for testing is crafting shaman or lower mage armour with red leather tier mats, and old leather tier mats with a 200 skill crafter, in theory high mat tier plus skill should increase df and md, I know it’s possible to get 3-3, 4-4 higher df than dropped equivalent with crafted df armour.
