Horde Mode coming soon or?

Author Content Date
UC is pretty dead atm.

A lot of people just log on for GVW (which should also be changed)

A lot of people aren't really farming anything because SD drop rate is too low and a lot of other upgrades hardly ever drop also. Tablets of Macabre being one of them.

Valour Weps and Champion armour are crazy expensive to get in terms of time spent to get a piece to also price ingame (which kills the UC)

Only wep worth getting hard is the Valour bow and maybe the orb.

It would be good to know when Horde mode is coming out to at least add another event (more content) for the players to do and also if PvP events could be looked at. Like I've said many times in the past, GVW was an event made for esoma in 1999, theres no reason why it should remain the same when nowdays you have pot delay, serum delay, Crazy fast weps, Crazy 1 shots from mages, and a dex mage can't really fight a good melee char anymore as they wont do enough damage to kill (and will be interrupted a lot of the time). At least when the cap was level 100 we were able to dodge a lot more on our mages but now it's impossible.

I know I've veered off the topic but GVW is outdated and should be updated to current needs. It should'nt be an event were the most alliance with the most players win it because people stop attending. It should be more about a fair 20v20 or even 30v30 max cap between 2 guilds. Or even a 10v10 were the best of the best battle it out to take control of GV, You could even change it to an every day defence kind of thing.

Anyway, Horde mode would increase the UC a bit and make it a bit easier getting Valour weps and Champ arm I guess...

Please keep it civil :)

Last time I looked there’s more than just 2 guilds in soma that actually play soma.

More guilds, wanted to take part in the guild village wars..... just that some of the paranoid idiots on here took vengeance and drove a lot of players off this server, all because players hit them while attending the gvw and took it to all new low level.

Majority of this community claim to be adults, yet act worse than what we had on esoma immature kids, trying to measure there teeny pricks, acting hard, harassing players because some low level, under geared player went to gvw for some fun and hit there characters.

@Tyrese you're a clown

@Ravensoul

GVW was literally made in 1999 for a game that is no longer today, yes back then every guild had a somewhat chance to win because there was more of an usercount.

If this current server had over 300 players attending GVW it would be different but it doesn't the same people log on once a week for it and it's basically up to us if we want to give them entertaintment or not which ofc shouldn't be like that.

In other mmos, the idea of owning a territory is based around a guild launching an attack on said territory and then battling it out with equal numbers on each side. and the best / most skilled / most strategic will always win.

Right now, the guild with the most ppl online in those last 10 minutes win which is counter productive to what the event should really be like.

I propose that GVW becomes a territory that can only be held for a max of 2-3 days and they will have different timezones to defent it as (as its fair because there are many players that play in different timezones in this server). On Albion there were EU Timers, NA Timers, and AU timers. Which you had to defend your terri at each point, In new World theres Different servers for different timezones which makes it even better (ofc that cant happen here) (not enough UC).

So the only other option is to make it a territory that can be attack by other guilds and the defender has to defend it for the whole hour. Maybe 6 guilds can attack it in that 1 hour as you could have 6 10 minute slots to attack it. Like I say, I would love a 5v5, 10v10, even 20v20 pvp system where battles are fair.

This server will never get near 300 players attending gvw, the 2 main sides that have been represented by same players over the years have seen to that.

Both the 2 main sides over the years have made players pick a side if not they have been run off this server and that’s a fact.

Both sides are the major contributors of the poor UC on this server for all there actions over the years.

If any guild started getting large numbers of members and starting looking like a threat to the 2 main guilds, war was basically declared onto the newer guild until every member picked a side, or ran out of town and of the server.

The mentality of the 2 main sides has prevented more guilds growing into a 3rd or 4th or 5th or more sides to bring more competition to things like gvw, bosses etc.

Reason why esoma had the huge UC was because if a guild started acting all big and trying to dictate how things should be there was other guilds who could put up a fight and put order back into soma, so no 1 guild could monopolies or try and run the show.

GVW is the only thing worth logging on for. Never once have the boys I play with said "there is too many, let's just all log off". You lose nothing for losing it is always worth a shot and numbers don't matter too much at it as you can win by pure luck too. I've been at wars we should have won and ended up losing and wars where we should have lost and ended up winning.

Abuse of immunity pots at bosses was the end of any kind of decent PVP. It's not worth playing to get a crew together for someone who plays 24/7 to show up to a boss immune and get the last hit and start global shouting about it.

Why should I blame the game?

The game that we all are supposed to love doesn’t harass players, the game doesn’t run players off the server, the game doesn’t shout obscenities to players, the game doesn’t pm players with cruel, obnoxious immature crap....

That’s all down to the small minority of players that have been doing it for years and that’s the reason why the UC is where it is.

Thing is it doesn't really take much for a group of say 10 or 20 players to get organised and create/develop their own guild.

Always been an advocate of having multiple guilds battling for control of the GVW.

Honestly, the real reasons why this game is in decline in terms of people willing to play is because of the concessions and changes made by the GMs. The changes in the rates of the game. The changes that occurred to Dsoma that killed it off on various occasions. There's also a huge problem in that there is a lack of active in-game GMs and moderators who will take action against those who abuse the system or cheat. Everything becomes factional.

The reason the server is in decline is the sheer ridiculous amount of time you’re expected to invest to try and compete, then next month there will probably be triple tabs and new 1000+ attack weapons and the last year grinding and will all count for nothing again.

Constant anti-PVP/balance changes over the years, against the advice of a large majority of the community at the time - while the PVE that this game offers is mind numbing at best, probably didn’t help much.

And finally just the fact this is a very old game, which had a small UC in its prime, let alone 20 or so years on - it’s always gonna struggle to compete with modern games.

A small handful of people still consider it worth playing though I guess, but most would’ve left because of those 3 reasons IMO.
