Quest - venturing for valour (Jhon lvl 120)

Requires 149 devil deity killed for 5 valour scrolls.

Quest - venturing for valour II (Jhon lvl 120)

Requires 149 fallen troll killed for 5 valour scrolls.

At first glance these look fine you would say, low amount of kills for some valour scrolls. Then you work out these mobs are in infernal caves (devil soma vod) so to get there you need to be online at a specific time which is time 6 for the gate to open to enter and you have 10 minutes which you won’t complete in one attempt, so these require numerous attempts to complete. This is why I said about how ill thought out some of these are, you have a time restriction and numerous attempts as obstacles in place to slow or put off a casual player from taking part for a total of 10 valour scrolls for 2 quests.

Quest - brimstone (head of town lvl 129)
Collect 6 magma fragments for 30 valour scrolls

This on surface is decent, even though mag frags do seem to have a low drop rate it’s only 6 mag frags for a decent amount of valour scrolls 30. One extreme to another regarding time required to invest for a reward.

Quest - smite (head of town lvl 129)
Collect 5 holy waters for 20 valour scrolls.
Same as above decent on paper,

Quest - material madness (head of town lvl 131)
Collect 200 swamp beast gems for 10 valour scrolls.
Looks decent on paper but this is just my personal view for the 2-4 hours it takes to get 200 sbg’s I would rather use them for 200 egg piles trying to make toes than waste these on just 10 valour scrolls.

Quest - material madness (head of town lvl 131)
Collect 999 stige metal for 10 valour scrolls.
999 stige metal for just 10 valour scrolls, seriously 10 scrolls. Taking the piss.

Material madness V (head of town lvl 131)

Collect 200 old bone
Collect legendary cook book
Collect 200 stige skin
Collect 50 werewolf jewel
Collect resilience necklace

Reward 10 valour scrolls.

We all know this legendary cook book is on the low drop rate it’s also needed for the +1 stat quest which in its place is a decent quest but to need this item for a poxy 10 valour scrolls is an insult, not to mention how much time is required for them 50 werewolf jewels alone for again only 10 valour scrolls.

I understand the logic in trying to make things a challenge to keep players entertained etc but some of these have had about 0.000000001 seconds of thought put into them, it’s one extreme to another. Imho if a quest cannot be completed in a 2 hour game time then it’s no fun and certainly not worth the huge amount of time needed to invest for shite rewards.

Games are meant to be a challenge yes, but there supposed to be for fun, to unwind, kickback and relax and to enjoy playing. I don’t understand your mentality at times in putting so many obstacles in place to put off or just piss off players and take out all the fun from soma and make it feel like a job at times.

These are just some quests I picked out to show you.

I think the only one of the material madness quests I’ve not done is the one which you need a xeno ess from abias, I’ve never had that drop when going after it for hero 2 pads.

I really think double the drop rate of scrolls from hunting mobs would be a huge help. Then you could choose to do these quests or you could simply hunt as normal gaining x amount per day.

Ive been saying from the start, of this, i miss being able to hunt for drops.

This hasnt been available since negamare first got introduced.
with the new stuff being nega only it requires people to be on at a set time of day, then when nega is spawned only one person gets the drops...

i would lie a "super mob" to be introduced to be able to drop the new armours and weps, a upgrade on the eldar mags, similar to what the elders were to normal mags.

even bang it into conti only so then there can be pvp / RVR involved and not easily obtainable. #just my honest opinion

I’d love a new mob like elders which were harder hitting.

Dropping nega tears, champ armor, Titus armor, necro sting, troll rings, ancient, champ armor and double fp and oe.

If the gm’s ever did make such a mob I think maybe two spawns maybe one on merc and one on abias or vod.

That way no one guild could control the spawn, meanin everyone can hunt fairly.

personnally the server should be wiped say every two years, bring some freshness into the game than keep letting it get stale, abit more fun again as each faction competes to get higher.

maybe just maybe it would reduce the amount of cheating and buying if they know its only going to be for x amount of time before next wipe. just my two cents.

Edit

Personally i would reduce the effect of all speed upgrades, i would rather have slower weapons as pvp just becomes stupid once people are rocking anything faster than 600 recoil.
