The council in principle might have worked sadly a few had egos and was only interested in things that would benefit them and there side. It’s the reason I left it’s the reason iSylver didn’t take the council seriously so don’t resurrect the council Finito.

You have the forums here with plenty of great suggestions in them, they just need to be put in one post for you to look over really.

You may feel your not a natural leader, but you’ve been running soma most of the time on your own. There are many different qualities a leader has so don’t knock yourself on this. You have the full backing of our soma community I have no doubt on that.

There is a lot I’d like to say and suggest and maybe when I finish writing my essay, I will. But seeing Ravens post above made me jump to say the same, you can do it Finito, as long as you still want too.

Rather than polls where people can log 100 store chars or discussions where they can do the same, have open discussions but anyone not posting on a main char either delete it or at the least ignore it.

You’ll get a lot more credible discussion that way.

i 100% disagree, finto needs the work filtering for him he cant do it all on his own, we had a balance in the coincil and yes we disagreed but we did some good things like changes to the shops and drop files for leveling mobs etc.

Ang big changes should be polled but again people cna log 100 nubs or 100 i.ps so its hard to judge.

I think there a lot of things we would all agree on i.e more mats/more drops/better anvil so maybe we start there with polls and see how it goes. But things like the Val weps were obviosuly not discussed with commuinty and experienced players and any pvp changes need to be highly discussed as this is where most people disagree.

But some sort of team to help fin is 100% needed.

Personally 1 team to feed to and from community for non major changes i.e mats/drop rates/drop files/leveling/general imprvments

Then polls for big things i.e pvp changes

Then i would also have a dev team that works on the long term progression of game i.e maps/new skins/ etc but these is skill based so peple like fox/remiex etc would be good at this.

Also kinda follwing on from last point a team to try and get this game on steam or something similar or just to incrase usercount i.e marketing team. So really we can have 3 diff teams all with diff goals but all working towards making soma great again...again.

think before trying to get on steam, get a few fixes in and get the game flourishing with the oldtimer uc .. there's enough of us if things can be made more accessible..
mats + crafting/ drops/ anvil/ con/ healing for int or free to 100 as above.. don't think any1 disagrees with this.. it's been the staple of the suggestion forum for 5 years or more.

Also, as mentioned continually by the pvper's ''it's a pvp game'' i still believe there's a larger contingent of players who just enjoy the pve... get some pve maps only in.. it doesn't stop pvp on the right maps...so no need for moaning about that.. it's just player choice what they wana do, or not do .. freedom!!

These things are a starting point and the finer details could be discussed via a council or just a team of players and/or forum discussion

i still maintain, we are virtually at endgame now and the above improvements are too late in the game for any meaningful difference.
Returning or new players would still be eons behind, and all the improvements in the world would struggle to draw them back, or newly to the game.

A server wipe probably not too popular from when it's been mentioned before.. but hey
it's only free pixels u gona lose huh?

As a returning player.

I'm not sure much can be done by the GMs to rectify the biggest issue in this game and that is community and guilds. From what I see there is two sides and a few solo players, I have been looking at thousands of screenies from esoma and the community was much more fluid. I have spoken to 7 people in Soma and that is it. Everyone else is PvP mad and doesn't have time for the "role play" aspect of it, I get it though it's human nature to become competitive.

The reason Esoma did so well and hold so many good memories for people is:

There was a mix of guilds and multiple rivalries were formed and many alliances.

Stats didn't matter, because of how long it took to get to lvl 100 and the soft cap being like 100 dex, you had the right mix of sword/knuckle/bow/spear etc because you knew you were ending up within 10 stats of the next person regardless of how you leveled, whereas now the difference in dex is so obvious it forces you to level a certain way, for example I have 97 dex 127 str... I have been told by the people I talk to that I might aswell remake char because I will be useless at lvl 135 unless i go axe/int from here. Why can't I carry on doing a lvl of bow followed by a level of spear until cap and still be able to compete? I'm putting in just as much work as anyone else.

Upgrades didn't matter as much because they never fully got to a point we had multiple pkers running around with machine gun bows and massive acc/eva.


The quest system needs a complete overhaul - there's no story line at all it's boring and seems like a cheap way of gaining bonus points with the players "Oh we added 5 brain numbing quests" we know you don't like it but you can't say we didn't do anything. Not having a go, i'm sure you did it with the best intentions but theres literally people volunteering to write you up a story line.

I think the biggest mistake here has been catering to the hardcore Pvpers more than the casual players and I don't mean immunity or anything like that, but keeping us engaged in the game and allowing us to keep playing and progressing and upkeeping our own community as the casuals did pre Lvl 100, after this point and the game becomes copy and paste where the hardcore players can run around griefing people, it becomes boring and tedious with abuse most of us don't want.

I want to talk about the future of this game I think.
No matter how many times I've played, I won't tell you about the specific numerical adjustment because it's a cautious part.


1. Bot, Macro etc.
Stop any illegal programs that can be blocked from running.
Legalize the things that cannot be blocked and provide them directly by GM for everyone to use.

2. Delete item swap delay
The game has evolved in a way that does not play faster and smarter to prevent some cheating. This is a stupid change.

3. Open the ranking list of k/d, str, dex, int, skills, mob kill, etc.
Check the ranking of kill, death, and various stats on the website.
(It will give you more motivation)

4. Rebalance the pos system
(1) Kill a mob and get pos (little)
(2) kill a player(pk, rvr) and get pos
Items that can be purchased through pos should be very valuable.

5. Rebalance human/devil balance
The current balance is at its worst. No human being can fight the devil on an equal footing, except for a few who wear top-notch items.
Traditionally, in Korean servers, humans had high HP using various weapons and magic, and demons had low HP instead of high attack power.
Now the devil is too powerful for humans.

6. Exclusive map for pve and pvp
It distinguishes pve-only maps from pvp-only maps and allows more valuable items to be obtained from pvp-only maps.

7. Two Guild Villages
It also creates another TYT and IC map so that players outside of Europe can enjoy gvw. This is a consideration for people in other regions and will further boost the game.

8. Delete the death drop or drop all items u r wearing.
Most people who enjoy pk have a goal of winning, not a death drop. I think more than half of the players enjoy pk but the system is more focused on putting pressure on them than on enjoying them.
The burden of death is enough to lower the k/d ranking and lose pos.
If these are impossible, it is also a good idea to drop all items when you die. Everyone will fight for medium items, or they will use top items with the burden of dying. It should be up to you.

9. Attacking the same guild members
The situation in which a death drop occurs by killing the same guild member in a safe zone should be deleted.

10. Relieving bad feelings among guilds.
Currently, this server is largely confronted by two camps.
It is to the extent that each other truly hates each other.
Each other believes that they are good.
Anyway, it needs to be a little bit harmonized.
If necessary, content is also needed to invite enemies to a party and fight together.
Random 3vs3 pvp or a lot of ideas are needed.(TOV is so boring)

I sincerely hope my Nostelgia lasts a long time.

Wasn't going to post as not sure how much of a difference it would make

There's alot of ppl who don't play soma still hanging around for that potential change that changes everything

For me it's not even a big change that's needed

-drops, it's nice to see they do get upped, but at times if feels like it's not made a difference, like there's nothing there to drop or somthing nice drops and it's a cya next week for the next one, for a caped player that's only hunting for drops aint going to stick around when nothings droping or they resort to running round pking everyone they see for entertainment (which isn't entertaining for the person unable to fight back)

-Pvp, think the dmg is to high, so possibly a boost of def into the game, def upgrade was added but this upgrade isn't somthing used for pvp, it would be somthing used for gvw to tank, where ppl havnt got the choice but to attack the tank to move them off the stone, in open world pvp the tank would just get ignored, (or if the new armor still not about enough then it wants making more avaliable for ppl to possess higher tags and upgrade them)

- Gvw (hsoma mainly) but both in general will be won by higher numbers , if the % system aloud to do its job without being abused(worked around) then it may make for a better gvw( possibly making the % system higher/faster to gain %/lose % (hsoma gvw map could do with tweaking as the bottle neck enterance is again more favorable to higher numbers)

-pk/pve map is somthing id never want to see, I 100% want to see more ppl around me hunting and not spread out more, I 100% want ppl to be able to attack me, that's the fun of the game, tho the issue comes when that someone goes out of there way to stop ppl hunting and my next question then is, is it to easy to be negative moral in soma or is it just that there's to many throw away characters now that being negative moral means nothing cos they can just switch chars

-is it better to just wipe the game and start the lands of soma afresh where ppl havnt got 10 caped chars they can swop between, where items don't exist that was bought for rl cash, where it would actuly mean somthing if your char was caught cheating and banned, tweaks that could be done that's currently to late for the game, I realy do swing towards this option, when there's no longer a worry about getting 1 char banned then ppl just start being dicks and nothing then will change this

I personally don't find PvP that unbalanced, maybe some small tweaks to make other weapons more usable, hp boost etc.

Upgrading should be made easier at the lower end of the sale to +5 maybe.

Tov - add double tabs etc to bosses. Maybe single tabs to adds. Add a quest where you complete x amount of trials you get a nice reward .Val's weapons to gedusa etc. Add valour into the standard daily quests

The whole different maps for pve and pvp thing just would not work here. It's too small a community to divide it further. Dedicating a not inconsiderable amount of time to designing and balancing such a system - only to have players split up even further - is daft.

Adding drops only to bosses isn't going to solve anything either. Adds no benefit to half the population and only serves to exacerbate what we already have - empty hunting zones and endless whining about bosses and immunity. Take a look around, the server is empty. Give people a reason to go out hunting mobs or accept the ever dwindling population.

Drops are one of the biggest parts of soma that help characters grow, if there dropping crap that is of no use it’s pointless dropping, if drops arnt dropping enough there’s no advancement for characters there’s no trading, no economy. A starting point for drop file list might be hellish trolls, Vafer raps and necro wasp and prismatic spiders. The top 2 mobs for warrior and mage, maybe take a poll on what worth keeping on there drop files and what is needed on there. Maybe also mags/elder mags too ( ancient really needs adding to elders )

I’ll add here save on posting new subjects.

As Been mentioned plenty of brick walls in acquiring items to finally upgrading maybe look into decreasing the amount of obstacles could help bring the fun back. The prepare skill for certain upgrades is from what I guess around the high 90%ish maybe you could post the correct success rate on prepare. Because if the cooking and potion section of making upgrades was similar to the prepare success rate this would remove a big hurdle for players.

Then we are onto the anvil, we’ll iSylver was going to make it +3 guaranteed success but the community at the time felt that was too high so +2 it was maybe a solution would be to look at the upgrade success rates and rework them +3 95% +4 90% etc as an example.

No to allowing any type of bot,
Didn't there used to be bot protection?
Get rid of the cheaters
make the launcher check files are original before allowing game to open(except ini ofc)

I for 1 would like to see the server wiped. I think Soma is at its best and most nostalgic when everyone is competing to level. Cap level at 75 and increase by 15 levels every 6 months, the server will be buzzing for the next 2 years.
Adjust swift spirit to go +5 only.
Slower exp rates increase drop rates.
Find some way to sell rested potions again to fund the server.
Mass email with a months warning of new server, glorious.
