I speak to so many people that have played Soma in the past and would love to return but they just don't want to return to this server as its been out way too long and its impossible to catch up. I am not sure how much it costs you to host the current server but surely if its cheap enough you could keep the current server up and then also work on a new fresh start to entice a bunch of people to return to the game.
I think you guys are the only ones left with the server files for the game otherwise you would of probably already seen a new server popup by now.

starting from scratch with new server, esoma rates, take out +2 guarantee, take out val weeps etc. cap 110. New group of ppl playing. nighblades and viking players banned from joining lol

thats the point, its the journey not endgame. for me anyways, remove town bugs, no int healing. the way it used to be did it for me. (except mage hp which ruined my character in esoma)
but u might be right, I guess the same ppl will come. |

The server files are out there. You can rent a server capable of running a Soma instance for some loose change and milk bottle tops.
If the player base is really there, if the demand is really there - why not get together and set up an 'esoma' server? The reality is people don't want to leave this server after years of grinding and they certainly don't want to play esoma again.
