Indeed there is merit in there being an event highlighting the problems of sharing accounts, however, to endorse an event which has triggered a week of server fragility and player discourse, is not reassuring.

I'm guessing this is a DNS based attack? From memory: isn't SomaDev hosted on a server that Finito works on in his working life? I'm not entirely sure on that, just from memory i'm sure iSylver mentioned SD being hosted as a 'side project' on one of Finito's main servers. If that's the case: isn't this causing shit for Fins work life server too (I believe it was another game also being hosted on the server).

Not really. Look at WoW's TOS & all other MMO's. Yes, you pay for ur account, to use it, and ur monthly subs - but the account remains in BLIZZARDS control. They can ban you for no reason and all you can do is accept it. Id imagine SD is in a similar position.

I'm against people buying accounts, and if they lose money: its their own fault. I think whats most disgusting is there are people on this very forum paying HUNDREDS for characters.

Are you trolling? The buying and selling of characters to my knowledge has never been supported, it's something players do at their own risk.

Dan already said characters shouldn't be sold and it's there own risk, should just play your own an enjoy the game... no sympathy for people who multi/buy/pilot if they get screwed over (I don't care that people do it, there choice an all that) just isylver made the consequences known from the start

I agree with what people are saying regarding permanently banning the account. Who cares if people have been doing since Nov/Dec its one account that has affected the whole community and put pointless problems onto the GMs who are providing a FREE service.

I find it funny people want high level characters in games but dont want to work for it, either bot pilot etc sell account let the guy level it up then reclaim it. Sad really, I say use this situation as an example for future incidents... Ban the account permanently and maybe people will start to think twice before they go down that route.

Edit - Id even bet once you ban the account the attacks would stop, as the person could see that the person who "reclaimed" the character cant play it either.

In my opinion it's either accepted and completely fine or it's not accepted at all, I personally don't see the point in saying ban one account but everyone else gets to carry on until the next time? or the time after that? Tbh either let it be or stamp it out all together.
