"TED"An axer could of punched like INTHEFACE did in order to overcome the max str attainable from WBM, but no s0rc moaned that the class should be able to level as normal and gain the stats intended as normal...which again I agree with...but then if that's the case so should all classes.


This excerpt clearly shows a lack of understanding in how stat gains and stat caps work.

All monsters apart from: FALLEN TROLL, DEMENTED WARTHOG, CRIMSON APAI

Prevent you from gaining ANY stats if your stats are 31 higher than their stat.

WBM with 185str would cease to give any stats once you hit 216str
GS with 145int would cease to give any stats once you hit 176int

All weapons, including punching gain stats based on the monster's Strength, meaning that an Axer, Swordsman, Spearman, Archer, Knuckler would all cap STR at 216 regardless of the weapon they are using, INCLUDING if they punch.

To keep it simple, as you seem to think it's more complicated than it really is, INTHEFACE did not circumvent any caps by punching.

P.S. Ryu's stats are not as high as a normal archer's would be, he punched Evolved Beasts and even Altered Beasts above level 90.

If 5 archers hitting u and u didnt die so something wrong there and we should fix it :) not by testing by urself!!!!

No need to get so mad because you can't kill me, relax mate. Helping me stay alive are these things called potions they restore health points. You make it sound like I was stood there not potting.

No you clearly miss understood my point, learn to read between the lines...It overcomes the stat cap in the sense you don't reach the stat cap at the same point in time, and also gain dex/int where you wouldn't of, in order to compensate for a lack (relatively speaking) of str. I know exactly how the stat caps work.

Again you don't understand my point as it must be more difficult for you to grasp, yes nothing can overcome a str cap on a mob, but it compensates for it...much like how archers punch in order to not have several levels of no dex (yes I'm also aware that only str gains truly regulate all stats but it's the same principle) A class should always be able to gain it's main stat at the rate intended.

No that's bullshit and I was actually going to post on that as I knew you would bring it up...yes he did do the odd silly thing and stay at some mobs later than others, but it still would of made no more than 5 str difference due to how stat slow downs work on WBM and all other mobs, he simply had a couple levels more of 1.3x gains when another char would be on 1.0x sooner. It makes little difference in the long run, and yes I still allowed for 195 str (5 more than he had).

Come on now it's not like the defence on your items needs to be a massive secret, let's put it out there for people to see how it really is damage wise!

You guys are a funny bunch...it's just odd how people like to maintain their unfair advantages, as if it's the only thing they hold dear in life. That isn't a dig at anyone in particular, I just think for the longevity of such a game, we should all want balance. The fact that archers all say they can't be bothered anymore as it seems pointless should say enough. When axers cried this they were all supported.

Dex cannot be as easily be fixed as the STR cap was.

What type of balance are you talking about? Rock paper scissors (class X is stronger than clas Y but class Z kills X). or complete balance (everyone is just as strong). Also keep in mind we want a group balance preferably over a 1v1 balance.

Also for the longevity of the game we have to look passed lvl 100. This thread is only useful pre-lvl 100.

I do like discussions too and I think you guys are making some nice posts.

Also from a GM perspective I agree that archers have been the best character up till the new mobs as well as the fact that archers are stronger (1v1 - a form of balance hardest to achieve) pre lvl 90. This is simply due to armor playing a dominant role in defence up to 120+ STR. After that the def from STR gets to gain ground on STR users and therefor the damage of archers goes down. And of course DEX is one of the strongest stats.
