Which is better?

Author Content Date
When Hero Rings became upgradable, it seemed an untagged ring was better to upgrade than a tagged one.

Also, Pumpkin necklaces upgraded with DTs were better if they were this;

+2 dex

and not this;

+2~1 Dex

However, is a tagged item not better ... as in, which of these two is the better and if the hardened magic earring is not better, why not?

Magic Ear RingMagic Ear Ring

+2 magic attack will give 2~2 dmg.

Another mistake with the tag system is that weight also contributes to what tag it is.

There was a pic posted a long time ago about a Rare devil axe having more attack & dura than an Epic one because the Epic one was heavier.

So, does the +2~1 only give 1 damage ?

A little bit of dura and more weight makes one epic and the other rare.

Edit: I have fixed the problem that caused the magic ear ring to roll as it did.

I will look into why the magic ear ring is getting the wrong magic attack type given to it when tagged.

The increase of weight for higher tag was done on purpose at the time the system was added.

Remember that the tags overlap. So a bad roll on an Epic tag will not beat a good roll on a Rare tag.

Do tags depend on the stats given to an item, or is the tag determined first, then the stats?

eg.

a) mob has a 10% chance to drop en epic, and then the stats are rolled for how good it is, or...

b) mob drops an item, and the stat roll then determines what tag to give to the item.

If a) were the case, surely the fact that its harder to get an Epic should make it so Rare & Epic shouldn't overlap?

It works like A (Mob has % chance to drop item and then that item has a % chance to get a tag and stats are rolled using the tag).

The overlap is on purpose that is how we decided to implement it at the time.

It is fixed for all items. But existing rolls will not be altered.
