Changes to rules

Author Content Date
I've already voiced my concerns to Dan and queried with Ian as to why there is so much favouritism and rule changing dependant on who's committing the crime. Screams corruption to me but hey.

I think any advisor or GM frequently partaking in personal group conversations on Skype should be ashamed really. If they want to be so 'active' it should be a community Skype that anyone can see if they want. Things like discussing bans over Skype with certain players is absolutely pitiful.

The soma community is generally poisonous with the exception being kind people as opposed to the argumentative, hateful trouble makers so consistent with the server - but that's soma lol.

"BASIL"Open has it spot on, get off your horses and see the real problem here...

Rules have changed a lot in recent weeks, but I think there needs to be a post where they're updated when a new rule comes into action.

Agree with open. 100% spot on.

The fact Ghostlord has told Dark legacy over skype they can pk at event bosses without letting the rest of the community aware is beyond a joke. To me that is favoritism towards one party.

Irregardless of who was told what, I would still say if it's not listed as a rule then it isn't a rule
If it is, however, then it should be immediately added to the etiquette listing and bans be given following the rule being implemented.

There is nothing wrong with asking for rule clarifications. Doing it over Skype has the exact same effect as asking ingame through PM. Noone else can see it unless the person shares it.

Why do I have Soma people in Skype? Because I've played this game for over 15 years. I know people from all corners, from all guilds. I've played ESoma, hosted my own servers and played over at least 25 pirate servers. Don't tell me you're surprised we know people, lol.

As for the rule itself;
I was approached for clarification. This happened both on Skype as well as ingame through PM. There is no practical way to check if something was 'ss spawned' or not. The proper way would be to check the soma times and calculate it compared to last SS event. This is not something I'm looking forward too. If this continues to be a problem we'll simply change it so PK is disabled during a certain period of time after SS.

There is a way to prevent PKing during GM spawned events. By simply removing PK mode during at that time.

The official ruling was that there would be no PKing at GM spawned events. iSylver lated added Magma's and SS spawned bosses when they were introduced. However, it was never implemented properly as it was only shouted ingame (this would bring us to the same problem as asking in Skype or PM). When I asked for clarification we had decided to leave it with the original rule. Since that original rule is enforced by removing pk mode completely it slipped my mind to update the etiquette post.

Too many rules and confusion...

Is it ok to pk at such events?

So you telling me that if i now go into Soma and claim to have spoken with one of the GMs on Skype. Lets say, I told every1 that on skype gms said me that now you can Bot and no1 gonna ban you... every1 starts botting coz I made up shit and no1 can either prove is it true or not if the Gms said anything... So basicly I can come up with stuff and say we talked on Skype. :D wow sounds cool.

Jesus Christ, this is so predictable. NM die a few times and either scream corruption or look for bans.

I agree there should be a forum post clarifying rules on certain things so there is no uncertainty, such as pking as SS/stance on bots etc, however currently there isn't one. Deal with it.

How anyone can say the GMs are corrupt or showing favouritism when half of DL have been banned over the past six months or so is beyond me. You need to have a word with yourselves.

There can't be a NM death without a forum thread crying foul play, or without seeking to get someone banned. You crave a one guild server. Pathetic really.

Also I hate people posting on store chars, so to avoid any uncertainty, this is Cyrox.

On the other hand I was never around when Magma's were introduced nor when the rule was made. I haven't seen sylver shout it. Should I believe everything that people say was shouted? Maybe someone made a private server created a GM called iSylver and did a shout.

I asked for confirmation. He confirmed it but agreed that it wasn't practical. The rule wasn't changed it simply was never introduced officially.

make a set rule.

otherwise some guilds might not bother going to the SS event if they know they dont have the numbers afterwards, knowing they wont get a chance at the bosses after with being bullied away with pking.

So will bans be handed out for previous crimes in grey areas?
