PK system rework

we all know there are people who play the game purely to PK, harass and be general pains in the bottom, and likewise there are people who like to just casually click a 2d isometric game with no long term plan. There are also casual people who like to pop on now and again get some lvling done at weekend and not be involved in drama while ideally hoping to cap one day.

have it so PK is toggled on and off per player. if pk mode is "off" on that player they can neither be pk'd or pk. have it so pk mode can't be left off, and resets every soma day with a 1 soma hour day "cooldown" just like a non-latching timer.

so what stops people turning it on, pk'ing ppl then turning it off again?

if you turn pk mode on, It gives the "HASPKD" flag, which means you're flagged for pk, for a day afterwards where you can not toggle it off again.

wont interfere with hostile rivalries like darklegacy vs no mercy because essentially they'll always be flagged for pk anyway.

will make pk pvp more dynamic and actually give a bit of respite to up and coming players tryin to level without being pk'd to shit.

good idea, was thinking about this myself recently.

maybe certain rules and time limit changes on to when and where you can toggle it. and how long it takes to change

but yeah will stop the need of having to turn PK mode off...

not on this char no as it's a relitivly new char but i have on my other devils

and i do understand your point about powpow but that does not change the fact that this could actually be a decent idea and should be looked at closely

I don't feel much for this idea. This is simply because I still need to test the effectiveness of my new pk removal command per player.

It also seem like quite a bit of work. We're already giving Finito more and more things to do each day.

How is this pk removal judged? Is it based on complaints with player feed as proof? Or is there a limit to the number of times someone can be pk'd within a certain time limit by the same person etc?

This will be based on my judgement (or those of the other GM's). Of course we will use all the information available to us.

I'll end up writing something official out soon, much like the etiquette post.
