Pretty handy guide on how to run a traceroute: (Copied from Battle.net)

Windows:
1.Click Start and type CMD in the search field.
2.Right-click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator.
3.Type tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx > c:\tracert.txt and press Enter. (Replace the x's with the servers address)
4.Allow several minutes for the trace route to complete.
5.A file will be created inside your C: drive called tracert.txt that contains your trace route information.
6.Type exit and press Enter to close the command window.

MAC:
1.Go to the /Applications/Utilities folder and start the Terminal application.
2.Type traceroute xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx > ~/Desktop/tracert.txt and press Return. (Replace the x's with the servers address)
3.Allow several minutes for the trace route to complete.
4.A file will be created on your desktop called tracert.txt that contains your trace route information.
5.Type exit and press Return to close the terminal.

Once the file has been created simply go into the Notepad file and copy/paste the data on the forum.

It's important to only run a trace route when the issue starts happening though otherwise it won't be accurate.

Ive hade wierd dc's since day one i started playing. Normally everything works fine then for some reason the game starts lagging like hell and i get constant dc's. The only way i have found to fix this problem is to reboot my computer. Why the reboot works i do not know but i does in my case. Once ive done a full reboot soma runs perfectly again. I usually have to do this once a day, and the problem seems to start when i try to surf the net at the same time i have soma running. Aka starting google chrome.

"ISYLVER"The key thing to help us look into this is viewing a dc ourselves from the users perspective not just caught on the screen.

What exactly happens? Do you get a dialog box etc.

You get the "connection to the server has been terminated" box. Literally the exact same as if someone tries to log into an account that you are already logged into. Hence my "its like a multi dc" comment.

For me it started at around 8.30 on the gv where fireworks were added to stores. I have only had it happen to me at guild village also.

Frost wind spamming or something maybe?
Possibly the 110int mass spells causing it?

Same for me at guild village. However while hunting since last weekend I keep getting very long lag spikes which only end when im dead.
Yesterday I lost over 20% due to these lag spikes. Logged off last night with the same% I had when I logged on in the morning.

The DCs I have had have been sudden and unexpected. There has been no lag or anything. It just all runs smoothly then instant dc - mid casting etc.

Why did some of the black spells get removed on esoma?

I used to get dc'd on esoma when someone would slow and was wearing plate pads. Abit strange like that.

I've been getting the exact same thing, almost lost some good epics due to this luckily guildies were close by.
It's annoying when you're hunting in VOD :( <3

@ISYLVER

This GVW dc issue happened to me several times in the past 2 gvw's.
I tried to troubleshoot it as far as my knowledge can comprehend.
I used the command prompt and ping ww.google.com -t -> this is to check my latency and the consistency of my connection.
However, during this last 2 gvw's when I dc, the connection and latency is OK and the char in my screen just paused and I have to terminate the somadev client and restart it again to be able to login.

I'm thinking that it is server side, I tested it using the normal 800x600 resolution and 1280x768 resolution both had the same results about dc-ing during gvw.

During pk wars and hunts especially where magic is majorly used(one that causes higher latencies) I don't dc.

Based on the video that malefic posted I was wondering how if being in a party adds a negative effect on the dc issue since all of us in the party dced at the same time.

I was also thinking that party+heavy reception of magic animation might also increase the latency on the server side.

Well those were my observations. I wish they would help resolve this issue.

The audit trail of the DB might also give good data about the time chars were dced.

Thanks!

"IPHIOS" There has been no lag or anything.

Could people using a bug to access storage and or shops result in these mass dc's?

Some crafters dont seem to attend shop restock very often or when they do seem to be just randomly running about buying mats with out stopping running.

Just a stab in the dark.

Setup an hours testing of gvw.

15 mins all spells disabled
15 mins with only original spells
15 mins only conti
15 mins all spells.

See if it makes a difference.

I can only comment on my own experience ;o
Yeah i know its me on the stone first couple of times on video. I was fortunate enough to to be suffering lag spikes that week though.
Only DC issues I have had have been at gv. In the one where style is on the stone and I am healing it looks to me like everyone in a frostwind range (happens to be Fuji's) DCs.

Would be nice to do a few test runs with magic disabled etc as shatterstar says.

I would like to add that it most likely is NOT something like frost wind or whatever. I asked the Chinese devil community if they suffered from the same problem. They do.

Ghost,

Mr_P, Sonic, Mal, Quick, Ace and Iphios are most certainly not Chinese though. And all come from a broad spectrum of countries and areas.

Could it be because they are in a party with someone who DC's, thus taking them off as well?

It ONLY happens when they are within touching distance of the stone. Doesn't happen when they are running in, doing other things, killing around the stone. Just when they all get near it.

Surely that means it has to be "something" up on the servers end, maybe a bug or a glitch of sorts?

Could we do some testing?

This never happened until 2 weeks ago. Nobody complained drastically of it.

It has to be server side.

Why is this only appeared two weeks dropped the issue, is it because we are strong, so some people are afraid of losing guild to use dirty tricks to steal the victory?
