Nice read and I couldn't agree more about the relevance of EE.
Due to this I've upped the spawns and regen time of EE in IC. So if you want those weapons hunt EE. Afterall they give the EXACT same stats as Grasshoppers but take a little more time to kill. |

"AZUMI""GHOSTLORD"Most of these things we're actually fixed with the bosses. Look around on the armory. Four bosses were added and some minor tweaks we're implemented. Not saying much more or i'll spoil the suprises. One hint, check Necronis on the armory and you'll find one ofthe changes.

Also a hint, just because a mob is called a boss doesn't mean it's stronger than EDW.
"HIPPY" if you had read more i said the drop rate was to high :p and with a small player base there is always a "was" on lower lvl items just like my rare bladed spear isnt gonna sell anymore becoz every1 is around the same lvl. anyway good to see the EE's being altered be im still looking forward to a loot overhaul with DW dropping 20+ items and GH's dropping 1 it still seems odd Edit would like to add that once you hit AB's the problem is fixed its the road getting there

Exactly, there WAS an economy... we're 1 week after launch, I've started giving my spiked away!
At the moment the only way to source Dread is to seek out a mage, what happens when(IF) Dread is added to a mob like hoppers? The economy for Dread will die.
You do that with weapons the same thing will happen and soon, as always, barr will become useless.
If weapons/armour are added to mobs (which I WOULD like to see) I personally think it should be at a ridiculous chance of getting a good drop... or, as above, everything will become useless.... and we're 1 week after launch.
The idea of 'getting your next weapon' should actually be that of going out and hunting for it, not just plodding along like a mindless zombie rushing to get to the top level.
ARROW |
"GHOSTLORD""ARROW"Lvl 16 on infernal mantis? Where is the problem you don't gain stats until lvl 5 and Mantis have 30 str..... Now let's say you have 25 str are a melee class. That means you gained 10 str over 10 lvls, so 2 STR per lvl. I'm sorry but those are good gains. You won't notice a difference until higher levels and even then it doesn't really matter since there's no level cap.

Can I just ask how you came to that conclusion do we work out certain stat gains based on the monster str and your own? That is really interesting.
I think the quote got a little screwed up, but I probably I understood your question. You want to know how stats are gained on DSoma and how I arrived at using those figured, am I right?
To answer - DSoma stats are calculated based on the mob STR compared to yours. Now if I remember correctly Finito once stated that if you have less STR than a mob it gives more stats than when you have more STR than mob. How much you gain in a lvl is based on how much XP that lvl needs. So if you just hit a slowdown you will get lower stats for a few lvls, this doesn't per se mean you should move mobs. I wouldn't know how to calculate how much you gain exactly, personally i'd never bother finding out since we know how it works. As for the Infernal Mantis part and gains I worked that out using my own gains of my noob and the gains of my real life friend, the punch mage. I hope this clarifies what you wanted to know.

Further to this, it was raised in another thread and this 10% thing becomes much more apparent the higher you get.
a 10% gain in Skill Requirements is not equal to a 10% increase in Strength/Dex requirements. I noted when I hit 67 Skill I had 63 Strength. The 67 skill sword requires 73 strength. Thats a whole 10 strength difference in what is required to use this item. I anticipate 80+ skill is needed to have 73 strength. Complete imbalance on stats here. Oh and 67 skill knuckle doesn't even have a dex requirement so as soon as the fastest skill gainer ingame hits 67 skill they can use that weapon where as all other classes will need to hit 80+ skill.
