What?! I'm not moaning... we use dominance because of the % which isylver told us quite clearly he had no issues with. Now today we are told we can't use dominance but it was in game and not all players will have seen this. I think it's only fair if the rules set by a man whose in charge are publicly displayed for all to see. Now, tell me how I'm moaning? I've just told you guys a good way to win a war, on this % Mitchy has 70int that's an awful lot less than jahrasta that's for sure. I'm using jah as an example because I know his int is higher than my mine anyway.

Mitchy, is that 70 int prior or after the decrease?
Maybe ISlyver should think about redesigning what the gains are for GVW, and remove the current benefit then see how much you want it. |

That's after that % takes effect.
But then nobody would have a reason to go to gvw with no benefits? Trace is brilliant for bosses, Pking and generally quicker hunting due to no time wasted running. |

Back in the old days, if you wanted Gv, you fought for Gv. You weren't handed it and the winners weren't slapped with penalties for ....winning lol
What is this, Carebear-Soma? |

The server has been going on for 3 years, and unfortunately for people who have young characters of 6 months max (including myself) there have been alliances and friendships created long before I even came back to soma - in which case, why wouldn't all old friends be in one guild who have levelled together for years? And why wouldn't others in different guilds of equal age team up with them against the rest of the competitors? Unfortunately it's just the way it is. And why not? No one should be penalised for it, and if there were any rules against that then GMs would have already put them in place.
There is only so much GMs can do to balance the young and the old players, and the percent system is perfect for it. I do however believe there should be a cut off point in the percentage though because if the older players were to be weakened so much, then it is an insult to how much time they've invested in getting to the stage they are. I don't feel that I should be given the guild village on a plate for me, I feel it should be earnt. If I'm not strong enough to take it then it just shows that I need to level up a bit more... Even in the past month I've seen a huge improvement in what effect I can do. If people want the village then they have to replicate similar and legitimate tactics that DL do: like everyone being online, working together and being tactical - that isn't always easy due to IRL shiz, but the best war I've been to was only a few weeks ago when there was a huge number of activity for it on both sides, and it was amazing! I still got owned but it was great to be a part of! The only thing I don't like is dictation on what we can and cannot do, which ultimately ends in threats of pking and being pked at spawn spot. BUT unfortunately it's a pvp game and that's the way they want to play it, nothing we can do about it except don't hang about after war and carry resi's.... And don't heal "greys" (thanks Mitchy ;)). The only flaw of this game/GVW that can't be blamed, is that newbies have to be playing as long as the oldies have been playing to compete with them - but strength in numbers! Matty and Ganons videos have been generating new interest and making the server massively busy again! And the new patch has made levelling faster than what the older players had to endure! Surely an advantage on taking the village, among other things? Now, I'm not that bothered about getting personal about shit, and hearing these conspiracies that fly about and all that. As far as I'm concerned, and reflecting on what I just said; as infuriating as it is to say it but DL aren't doing much out of line in the perspective that I get out of Soma. It is only a game, and they've been going long enough to be 100% efficient at it. It is frustrating but is it really that bad? We're all part of a community that all love Soma, Can't we all just get along? It's a virtual MMORPG? Please?

My bashing comes from how boring the GVW has become, I always try use legitimate tactics against stronger opponents, spells overlapping, eg, blind, poison and weaken I therefore did the max damage I could against those I fought, we all want the game to be as fun as possible and get back some numbers on the server but with the current system it's not going to work.

"LUXY_"... watching people like Jackelpup who is a badass mo fo helping you defend the guild village Fair point, However .... there are very few people that would refer to me as "bad ass" (I have the worst PK ratio in the game). AND, DL were stood at Abias gate asking pretty much anyone and everyone for help at the Guild Village War. I negotiated a "non-PKing agreement" (against me) with Linkdx in exchange for assisting. I also asked if that breached the ethos of iSylvers rules (and he said no). (which will all be recorded on the server somewhere) So, I considered it a fair trade and I went in the last 10 minutes. Also, I shot lots of people and being stood in the middle of a bunch of "bad asses" I didn't get shot back. I hope no one takes it personally. 8) Jac

That's my point. These guys have been with the server since its birth. Me, as a noob in comparison shouldn't get the village so easily because what would be the challenge and incentive to train? - but with numbers and hard work, we will eventually be able to match them. GMs have already given us advantage on the nerf, which is more than that of esoma - which I never sniffed a win at!
We need support fighters like what you're doing Luxy, but we need man power too, which will happen eventually... just like WOTW. It's part of the game,;and unfortunately because we're behind times, it's gonna take time to catch up with the top players of hsoma. If anyone is to blame it's former rival top end guilds that are no longer playing, because there is no competition except Soma vs DL... but Faint will become one of them with hard work and patience. There are some things that DL do that annoy the shit out of me, like boss monopoly and pking unreasonably, but it is what it is and that's the game. GMs will penalise them for exploitation and bad gamesmanship, which they have done very recently already, but for the best part, it's all legit in my eyes. I'm not jumping up anyone's arse, or slamming other points. But that's the way it is. There's alot of negativity on this forum, and if it's negative towards the mechanics of the game that can't be changed, then what's the point in starting a thread about it that's open to sparking trouble? I can't fault threads that have constructive intent though, as that will push the game forward. I have fun at wars when there is activity, and the other week was actually a good fight and could've won it when everyone showed up! Like I said, if I got owned in the war, then I know I need more stats.

There are valid points on both sides but DL are starting to feel like it's not about balance anymore but making sure DL lose by any means necessary. We'll do one thing other guilds have done in the past and by next war there's suddenly an issue when there wasn't before and it keeps happening. Am I playing the victim card? No not at all just asking for consistency which I don't think is unreasonable.
Despite that the majority of us myself included don't complain about the percentage nerf apart from the fact I feel it should be capped off so we don't become so weak we literally can't compete ourselves and automatically lose. It's like the same issue it was put in place to help but happening in reverse. It's as if we're expected to roll out the red carpet and give the village away, seems some are getting salty it's not happening that way. Not trying to take the piss either, just my thoughts on the recent threads that have been popping up constantly.

You keep missing the point of what I am making, with % lost for DL you are finally at the lvl where faint can compete with you but rather then making it fun and having a laugh, eg dying in stupid ways like I usually do, and seeing if you can compete mono a mono which I made a thread about previously that suggested using your alts some of DL are getting annoyed about getting blinded, poisoned and confused and start PKing people outside of the warzone. Anyway my IRL is more important right now so this is my last post on the subject, I'm not going to GVW anytime soon.

I'm not throwing out your point about making it fun, I mean I don't find charging a wall and dying in stupid ways fun but that could just be me. Wars cost barr and dying in stupid ways costs me barr and is of no benefit to me. For the defending guild it's about a good war and most importantly the result that matters.
Do I get annoyed at having status effects constantly cast on me yeah but who doesn't but never once have I threatened to pk or grief for it I just make sure I spot who's doing it and continously go for them when I can. As for pking outside the zone that's always been a thing up until recently.

Dominance isn't a bad thing use it as motivation to better your own chars to eventually overthrow them , there are a lot of new faces about and it will take time to compete with the veterans , dl haven't always dominated they took time and patience when others were stronger , looking for excuses is just the easy option
