GMS - advice.

The % also dosnt balance bcoz if a guild is capped others will only catch up faster with the new rates its even happening faster. So the guild that wins gets weaker by % and on top of that other guilds are catching up lvling fast so if u stuck on 60% by the time ur back on 100% there more then a dozen new lvl 100 players.

"VALASI"The server has been going on for 3 years, and unfortunately for people who have young characters of 6 months max (including myself) there have been alliances and friendships created long before I even came back to soma - in which case, why wouldn't all old friends be in one guild who have levelled together for years? And why wouldn't others in different guilds of equal age team up with them against the rest of the competitors? Unfortunately it's just the way it is. And why not? No one should be penalised for it, and if there were any rules against that then GMs would have already put them in place.

There is only so much GMs can do to balance the young and the old players, and the percent system is perfect for it. I do however believe there should be a cut off point in the percentage though because if the older players were to be weakened so much, then it is an insult to how much time they've invested in getting to the stage they are.

I don't feel that I should be given the guild village on a plate for me, I feel it should be earnt. If I'm not strong enough to take it then it just shows that I need to level up a bit more... Even in the past month I've seen a huge improvement in what effect I can do.
If people want the village then they have to replicate similar and legitimate tactics that DL do: like everyone being online, working together and being tactical - that isn't always easy due to IRL shiz, but the best war I've been to was only a few weeks ago when there was a huge number of activity for it on both sides, and it was amazing! I still got owned but it was great to be a part of!

The only thing I don't like is dictation on what we can and cannot do, which ultimately ends in threats of pking and being pked at spawn spot. BUT unfortunately it's a pvp game and that's the way they want to play it, nothing we can do about it except don't hang about after war and carry resi's.... And don't heal "greys" (thanks Mitchy ;)).

The only flaw of this game/GVW that can't be blamed, is that newbies have to be playing as long as the oldies have been playing to compete with them - but strength in numbers! Matty and Ganons videos have been generating new interest and making the server massively busy again! And the new patch has made levelling faster than what the older players had to endure! Surely an advantage on taking the village, among other things?

Now, I'm not that bothered about getting personal about shit, and hearing these conspiracies that fly about and all that. As far as I'm concerned, and reflecting on what I just said; as infuriating as it is to say it but DL aren't doing much out of line in the perspective that I get out of Soma. It is only a game, and they've been going long enough to be 100% efficient at it. It is frustrating but is it really that bad? We're all part of a community that all love Soma, Can't we all just get along? It's a virtual MMORPG? Please?

Mirin the essay, great post tho.

To clarify:

Moving characters between guilds to circumvent the percentage is where I have an issue and if I see as such happening will get involved (using alts is also dodgy practice but not bannable considering the origin of some of those alts).

I'm also frustrated that a guild that numerous members have asked for "smaller guild numbers - to increase pvp" feel the need to create a secondary guild effectively surpassing the limit of 30 to 48 (60). You may as well rename Dominance to DarkLegacy2. You claim you want better PVP, you want new features but will do everything you can to prevent it.

Needless to say my motivation for this level 100 patch increase has gone for the Christmas holidays. Quick note: If I spot anyone telling people that they will "grief you off the server unless you do this..." I will remove you quicker than you can say NeilsLaptop.

Can I ask what you mean by this, not sure I fully understand. Alts are not bannable if they're in a guild unrelated to the defending guild? Just a bit confused, cheers.

Sorry - worded that badly.

You can do what you want with your alts (providing they're not guild hopping etc). However, we will likely look at the origin of some of these alts such as characters that have changed region or continent - which could suspect gifting or buying of characters.

11. Ownership/Selling of the Account or Virtual Items.

Ownership/Selling of the Account or Virtual Items.

What about people having multiple characters on at any one given time? eg: healers / pot runners?
I understand people have storage characters and some people have capped chars n would want a secondary / third... but their alt characters IMO (if you disagree just be thankful I'm not GM) shouldn't be able to PK / join guilds / influence the dynamics of the game in anyway.

Darklegacy : 71 wins
No_Mercy : 51 wins

Big content patch came with shitloads of changes the biggest contender for GVW is no were to be found whos fault is that.
The rest of the guilds are actually allowing DL to have the village for so long and really numbers mean shit if u cant communicate with each other and just hitting random numbers.

Guild Village War needed some changes but it got the wrong ones imo because it only gives trace and only for the lucky 8 who are on spots. i remember Slither added a teleported at some point inside hut to various places so people could go hunting easier it helped us alot.
