Raise skill cap by 10% due to 10% increased req on weapons

Author Content Date
I do get what is being said here but I personally think that staff should be a choice people have to make at the cost of a secondary weapon. If you want to be a "mage" it should be to the cost of something else.
Otherwise the entire server would just be bow/axe and shiro staff.

I'd agree, if it was the start of the server and I hadn't already lost almost 60 staff skill due to the skill cap. Think its mighty unfair to bring this in on the people who have already hit skill cap and have been penalized for doing so if this change came in.. I'd expect my staff skill reinstated, completely unfair request I agree but so is raising the skill cap when I've lost tons of skill already, others must be in the same boat too.

I'm not going to comment on increasing the skill cap but it would definitely be awesome to be able to pay to lock skills at a certain point so you don't have to mess around juggling them all the time.

I think this would be the best solution.

Or just spend a bit more time planning your character's skills.
A skill lock function would be nice but not really required and as Acaelus has said - it's a bit late to implement now.

Sorry but positive changes shouldnt be not implemented because a select few will be slightly disadvantaged.

The game is in early stages yet, and everyone including those who have already hit the skill cap will definitely benefit from this in the long term should they decide to reskill to another weapon or decide the want to try to juggle three weapons.

It's positive in the sense it makes it easier. Personally I don't think its a positive step for Soma.

My comment was in reference to staff. If a player wants to keep staff skill to gain additional MA then it should have been a planned choice made earlier on. Not a "oh Jesus I'm trying to level too many weapons and I am doing int with a moon-m - lets raise the cap" decision.
Staff on this server appears to be a worth while weapon to keep at the moment with the positive steps in MA cap increase.
I don't think it should just be a given that everyone has the ability to train a dex weapon, str weapon and an int weapon.

Just plan your char.

Raising skill cap? No.

Having the ability to "lock" skills in place? Yes.

Coincidence that the two high levels that are against this are both sword? I think not. As the most balanced weapon for stat gains it is far easier to 'plan' your stat gains. If that is your idea of planning then let's all go sword. Sword will have minamal juggling at late lvls whereas if we want a balanced end game then the other classes need to be able to lock skills.

I dont think the skill cap should be raised.

But after reading various that no-one uses staff end game and that int will fizz out and it will be melee based at GVW etc late game. I think there needs to be a very big incentive to keep staff.

I dont understand the problem with increasing it by 10%. The skills required were increased by 10% so surely the cap needs to be increased by the same value?

Few factors:

1) -M tag weapons and using Combo's of magic & melee reward greater burst damage.
2) Magic attack on end-game staves (on both races) pale in comparison to their Melee counterparts.
