Awesome!
I am sure more has gone into this from Fin and Dan, they know the score and the impacts his tweaks make, so let's just wait and see.

Will there be a full patch note list of what has been changed and added Ghost closer to the time?

If dsoma turns into "pick you're favorite cookie cutter build from this list" i'll be pretty disappointed, I'm excited and grateful for the GM efforts, but still unsure why we even needed the system in the first place

only mages (a class which has been utterly ignored for years, so I doubt the system was introduced for them) and archers who punch for str, do anything outside the norm of +50 str leveling, and the int you gain from punching is irrelevant anyway, doesn't stop you getting smashed by magic (lazarus 2shots a punch archer, a full punch swordie or an intless axer just the same)

Leveling well, should always be rewarded in soma, its basically the essence of the game. Once characters are differentiated from each other only because they have +1 upgrades more on their armor from someone else there's going to be issues, and people will lose motivation (or just quit because they fail ridiculously low chance upgrades, to try make their character different from the rest)

cautiously optimistic that these issues have been thought about and addressed, and look forward to new content regardless

I'm quite optimistic because things are a little stale at the moment. If you exclude archers who punch and mages, with only a difference of 2-3 stats all characters of a certain class are identical and therefore there isn't much to be said for innovation or putting in more work to make your character better. At least on hsoma you can customise stats...on dsoma you just get the same as everyone else and it's pretty clear what classes beat others and therefore less fun. I know there is no point me, as an archer, attacking a devil axer because I do min damage to them - but after the patch I can change that if I want to take risks elsewhere.

This patch might bring back a ton of people, and it will be exciting seeing what people try and do. If there's a variance of builds (like the int proc character who counters the wisdomless character, or the full dex archer when everyone has gone low dex) then the game could be exciting. If we just see every single devil go pure str, high dex, and minimum viable int/wis then it will be much worse than now.

My main concerns are wotw issues and respec issues (too easy is a problem, too hard to do is a problem). If those turn out not to be game-breakingly annoying then I think it could be fun. On a lesser note I'm concerned about pking at the new mob spawn from people who play hard and ruin the experience for others to the point they can't play (although that is soma), and some classes being very very overpowered.

I'd just like to see lots of players come back, new guilds form and have some proper competition and rivalries between guilds!

great post

feel the same way 100% and as it stands something needed to change, lets hope that the patch has been well thought through - there is no reason it hasn't been. The many builds that the patch will bring is really exciting for me

- Bosses that spawn with a real time delay are now announced 5 minutes prior to them spawning. Bosses that spawn based on in-game Soma time or are spawned by command or event will announce when they spawn.

The Chinese won't be happy with that xD
