"BELKA"......

For now though, this is a projection based on ESoma. I wonder how it'll end up here.

I don't mind if there's a choise, we'll just have to see how much of a choise.

Lvl 90-100 is the period where you get the most stats, it wouldn't suprise me if someone got a LOAD of a dex in that time. Also remember that after 100 STR / DEX for an archer STR is probably as fast if not faster than DEX.

I guess it's all how you want your character.

eSoma STR gains were the same for every single weapon after a certain amount of str, was it 95 or 100? Can't remember the exact number but how else would I level with bow and gain the same str as someone with axe?

Weapon choice on esoma was purely for what you preferred and pvp, ended up very well, what we're seeing at the moment is that people are switching to axe etc.

It'd be good tbh if the GM could clarify and post stats of a lvl 100 to get a projection otherwise people MIGHT be messing their characters up?

Need confirmation.

People make it out like dex effectively stops at 100 but no, its just a double slow, its still perfectly possible to get over 100 dex. There is no issue, someone doing sword + knuk/bow will cap with 105+ dex at str cap (Assuming they do about 150 knuk which is what i did), yes they may cap with a bit less int, but 5 dex is a lot, and thats their choice to be made. If you do more dex than that you should easily be able to get well past 110+ dex (Which is huge)

Exactly the same way with someone who chooses large amounts of int will suffer str / dex wise.

This leads to the following: Everyone will have different stats at cap, you select what you want to specialize in, and you will be good at one and weak in the other. Which i think is nice, it leads to variety and every one will be slightly different.I personally hope when the level cap is raised new mobs are added, so once again people cannot cap both int and str, and will have to specialise in one, rather than having everyone at 220 str and 190 int, leading to every character just being the same.

It's true that every character will be somewhat unique, but do you dispute that someone with pure knuck will have less overall stats than a bow/axe user - assuming they both cap STR and then move onto INT.

I realise it is projection and possibly impossible to say, but it's kind of a big thing.

Great post, I think having a larger variety of specialized gear specific to classes would be good too, and also specific gear for high dexers or high STR. Less linear power(levels and stats) and more variety and choice(Gear and upgrades).

I don't agree with that statement that Bow is pointless above 80dex - as is easy to test (having already done so many times on p.servers), you are more than able to break 110dex doing pure bow on Hsoma.

Your str suffers in the short term, but once you hit level 90+ you'll see STR sky rocket, DEX will also continue to increase at a steady rate.

Besides, what's wrong with having less STR than your Axer counterpart when they can't land a hit on you?
It's the same as it is on Dsoma (just the delta in damage/dodge is smaller).

So i've read a lot of opinions stats and figures which I appreciate everyones input. So my question now is, at level 100, are we likely to see the following? If so then it still seems a bit pointless with sword if you can cap str alot earlier and have much higher int.

Axe - 140 str, 97 dex, 130 int
Sword - 140 str, 100 dex, 100 int

Of course these are made up figures but hopefully illustrate my question.

@Belka yes someone will have less stats doing a dex weapon, as dex is much slower than str or int.

But its as s0rc says, if you get 120 dex, (20 dex more than someone else) Even if they have 100 str more than you, its not much use if they cant hit you is it. To gain something, you have to sacrifice something, which is the case if you decide to focus on any particular stat, or you can attempt to make a somewhat overall balanced char.

So once again, everything is perfectly fine, nothing needs changing.

This. You choose your weapons accepting you'll have slightly different stats to someone that chose different weapons, surely thats the point of being able to choose what weapons you use and what stats you specialise in? A server full of chars with the exact same stats at cap would be a very boring server.

(You consistently talk a lot of sense on these forums Fuji, props to you)

Its not just different stats though, its less total stats.

If you value 20dex more than 100 str as he suggested or a gigantic amount of int... then fair enough, not going to try argue with you :p

DEX (with bow) is twice as slow as STR, not five times.

20dex = 40str.

There is no 100str v 20dex scenario, that's Hyperbole.

Can have Finito put this speculation to rest by creating a 100% bow char at level 100.

Would be nice (if its not too time consuming) if level 100 chars could be created showing their capped STR/DEX for each weapon so people can see whats going on and decide exactly what they want to do.

Fuji. A lot of what you say does make sense, but i have to disagree that everything is perfectly fine. This is proven by the sheer number of ppl (esoma and here) changing to axe.

We have to ask.....why would someone want to sacrafice capping str for an additional 10dex? People may think this is a good idea for a mage.....wrong.
In a scenario of gaining additional dex (say pure nux);
- I am seriously lacking on str and therefore do no damage with melee
- I have wasted an extreme amount of xp doing dex and therefore also lack int against people who have gone axe. So as a mage i will also do no or little damage

What are the benefits? Yes i am hard to hit, and probably level more efficiently also. But i see no benefits over someone who has gone axe, capped str, has 100dex and serious int to go along with it.
