Burst potions

Thoughts on some potions available in shops that would add a certain amount of stat for 10 seconds i.e

+ 10 attack for 1 minute
+ 10 defense for 1 minute
+ 10 ma for 1 minute
+ 10 md for 1 minute

(ensuring only one potion was used at once)

Arguably opening up pvp a little.

I like this idea, adds a new aspect to things such as times 4ths ect, what sort of weight would you think of making them?

Sounds interesting, a few questions about them.....

Would they only work against players? If not,
Would they be limited to GVW and WotW?

Also, would it make more sense for the attacking potions (Atk & MA) be greater than the defence versions?

Would it be possible to add greater stat increases for a shorter period of time, say +2 ATK / DEF for an hour? Just random numbers as an example

I think an hour is wayyyy to much, if the potions were brought in, i think we should be looking in single digit minutes

This just makes mages stronger.

10 MA with Weaken is effectively 20 MA.
10 MD is just a flat 10 MD.

I think for that reason only it's a bad idea!

I'd welcome 10 MA on Dsoma considering Melees hit almost twice as hard.
Though I understand why Hsoma it would be a bit much.

Just random numbers I used, but I do think a longer duration would be beneficial for hunting (If Dan wanted it to work against monsters that is)

Yes but they have to A get close enough to hit you, then B they have to actually land a hit against you. Magic is 100% hit rate. I agree that on hsoma it'd be abit much, imagine at gvw if all of EQ used +10 MA at the same time and frost winded everyone = game over.

Now that melee damage has started to scale nicely, people tanking the stone for massive periods of time doesn't seem to be that much of an issue (for hsoma at least).

If you watch Linkdx's gvw VOD's closely, you will see most people drop in about 30-60seconds; with the top tier players only lasting 1-2 minutes.

Its still a really nice idea though and could be used to utilise some of the underused crafting materials if implemented well (such as mung beans, chestnuts, lizardmen plates, jades etc etc.)

Could also add an additional purpous to crafters to give them a minimum skill to make them 110/120 pot/cook but have 100% success. Give people a reason to go above and beyond the current requirements

I like the Idea for 10+ attack and 10+ defense. As Magic is OP as it is, it would be a nice add on to buy. Also hope they re expensive so people don't abuse them to get faster stats. :P

I also think than 10+ MA would be too OP (over powered), same as 10+MD.

Furthermore It would very strategic to which pot to use if they lasted longer than 1 minute which makes things fun.

I am all for this idea. but ye, Mages would benefit more from it.

Just lock-out the mage when he uses his pot.
Pretty simpulz!

Could work for MA, MD, AT and DF, just need to have cooldowns on them.

or maybe give each a side-effect - a slight attack speed slow, health degen, max health/mp decrease for duration etc etc.

also if introduced i personally feel the weights should be 15-20+ so you can't carry a bag full.

how about splitting this down into every craft and have them craftable only (devil boss drops only)

potions as surgested, maybe half there stat

weap/armor/acess upgrades with set time

just need somting for food,
