guys leave pking alone - let people grief others - make it a tough game - please don't turn it carebareish
I hated getting griefed by Eternal_E when i was a noob on hsoma - or with his dsoma Tearz when I started dsoma but It made me wanna get better. |

I kind of agree with this Eviju. From what I gather, if you stay a neutral player and not get involved in the PK wars you won't be PKd.
If you don't want to be PKd, don't join one of the main PK guilds or PK others, don't talk shit to each other, play the role of a peaceful person. Yeah even the peaceful people will probably get PKd every now again but the more you PK and talk shit to each other the more you make yourself a target. PKing always was a massive part of esoma. I remember standing around the graveyard with all the PKers finding it interesting but praying no one killed me haha. Just like real life, live by the sword die by the sword. I don't think it should be changed really. Accept that this specific character you've made is now known as a PKer/PKee. Start a new character, don't tell people it's you and play the part of a peaceful person if you don't want to be PKd any more.

That sounds good in theory hound..... but u get pkd by helpin the 'wrong guild' at gvw. You can be a peaceful player and attack no1.....but if u help the 'wrong guild' ...4-5-6 of them come to pk u.......... thats a bit sad, but true

Oh really I didn't know that. Obviously I'm still pretty new back to it so don't fully understand the dynamics. I have definitely noticed a lot of toxicity between players on here.
I noticed on the podcast there being dislikes on the video. I can only imagine that's people who don't like sub and Cupid just doing it because they don't like them. I personally think that even if you don't like them we should all be liking the videos to try to get them out to new or even old esoma players. Try to get the user count as big as possible.

Remove % system and take it back to the old days imo and increase the guild size to 40-50 and posibly increase the size of how many people that can have POS/TRACE |

we all loved soma for a reason - the pking is the best aspect of the game - getting an item from someone is so rewarding after pking them. maybe make resi scrolls more expensive - so it goes up with inflation cause if so many millions of barr are around make resi scrolls harder to obtain?

The principal and game play are identical to the ethos suggested and preached.
I arrived confident there would be no problem. Even after I was dropped I still thought there would be no problem (a token kill I thought) after having just listened to the very same person broadcast as such.
Was the podcast disingenuous or is this now a "work-around" of the self-imposed rules?
If we are going to say PKing is ok (that's the game anyway, right?) then just say that. If you want to say PKing is not ok then it is reasonable to expect people to stick to the rules of their suggestions without making "special exemptions" to suit themselves.

Yet again a thread designed to be “positive and constructive” has turned to “flame and blame”.
I have seen it so many times and despaired (haven’t we all?). This time, it is clear that I am the cause. It was not my intention to derail the efforts made to improve the game and it was not my intention to downgrade quality of the thread to vitriol and bile. I never intended that, I apologise. For clarity, I found myself in an in-game environment which I perceived to be contrary to the wishes, suggestions and ethos of the podcasters and various other people involved (including the associated threads). Indeed, one or more of those persons were present. I am very aware of the DL vs VK but felt this was an issue outside of those parameters and firmly within “the new world” being created. As usual, people (including me) only appear to see what we want to see and the usual guff manifests yet again in viral form. Nothing gets solved. Let’s move on? The podcasts serve multiple purposes; 1) They are fun 2) They are a platform to vent 3) They enable feedback on the game 4) They create seeds which can grow In reality, it is unlikely there could be any “major” changes to the game as doing so would likely undermine the basic fabric of the gameplay. (It happened with private servers). It remains fun to talk about them and the draw of hope is also a powerful ally. "HOUNDEYE"I noticed on the podcast there being dislikes on the video. I have never liked that aspect of youtube. It creates a negative air and discourages people where the reverse should often be applied. I never click the “dislike” button (for anything) and I didn’t do on Podcast 4. I know it can be disabled by the video owner – perhaps Matty/Tom will do so?
