We had to take turns every 2hours, which both of us never wanted to log off. I felt sorry for my mother having to put up with all this.. Eventually my brother got bored and went to lineage 2 and finally got his own computer! I kept playing soma and I was then in my element. When I played my first private server, which I think was Alphaomega server (badgers server)I quit esoma as I loved the fast rates. I did not log into esoma for 2years. I always remember a day I skived off school to get gold armour at trolls. Said I was really ill and smashed strength for 12hours straight just to get 63str! This was on esoma.. I love soma, always have, always will, just missing having the time to smash them hours in 15-18hours per day (yes I was sad) lols. But family comes first now we are all grown up! [/quote]

I'm a lot better now and that life is behind me but from a 14 year old boy to a 29 year old man Soma has always been there in one form or another. If I heard she was killing in Merc I'd drop everything and go there just to kill her lol. Occasionally she was annoyed enough to respond, I savoured those moments the most ;) I was quite annoyed when Soma finally died. Annoyed that anybody could be so childish as to bother killing off something that brought enjoyment to so many. It was a pathetic waste. So, I kept an eye on new server developments and eventually came to this server. Soma to me is about nostalgia. The community was and still is very close-knit. It's almost like a secret between a select group of people which of course is both a blessing and a curse. However; I have met some really nice people on Soma and it's the community spirit that draws me to it. Admittedly there are better graphics, better storylines, better quests, better action etc on many other games but replicating the tight community of Soma, held together through shared nostalgia is impossible. Since I played so much ESoma I promised myself I would play this server less so. I do limit my time here but I still enjoy it. And actually it has now become better than ESoma, in some ways. It was my reward and ultimately an escape from a very crap childhood where I was bullied, I spent most of year 10 in isolation because I didn't want to socialise. I had some great friends through Guilds I joined and ultimately guilds I created. It also allowed me to meet a good friend whom I'm still in touch with today. It also gave me and my cousin something to do at weekends after I introduced him to it. - Where does it fit in your life? After finding this server and after a break I rediscovered soma again a few months ago after getting that 'feeling' again. I don't always get to spend hours on end on it, tending to play it on my little netbook on my break at work or when the Mrs and Kids are at school/work and I use it as 'me time' I have quite a stressful career (I work for West Midlands Ambulance Service as an Emergency Ambulance Technician) responding to 999 calls and often helping people in their most vulnerable time, it's alot of driving as well! I look forward to my break where again, I can just enjoy hunting and levelling untill I go back out again. - Any ways soma has helped you? As above really. Soma signifies me time. And between work, my Mrs and 3 Step Children it gives me something I can truly enjoy. - Any great stories you've had in regards to soma?  Mainly what I've heard on here really. One of the best stories has to be the GMs doing this free and in their own time. It's a rare kindness you don't see very much of anymore!! [/quote]
