"DIOS"I’m sorry but this is insane to read.. a dad looses contact with his son for 8years but has time to play soma... there’s no excuse in the world... as the7 just said keep this shit to your selfs you’re only going to get trolled and it’s understandable...

Firstly, you obviously missed the gist of the thread because it is clearly about what Soma means to people.

Not that it is any of your business but just want to put it out there that Willow (my stepdad) had many reasons for not seeing his son, something you know nothing about but jump to your little petty conclusions. Regardless, he has now met up with his son and wait for it.... his son is over the moon as he knows the reasons for this and has no ill will whatsoever, probably due to things being out of their control.
So i'm guessing that if he has no issue, i have absolutely no idea why you felt the need to make a pathetic comment about two people you know absolutely bugger all about. Pretty ironic for you to make a comment about trolling, yours appears to be the only troll comment on here....

Anyhow, back to the thread.

How did you hear about soma?

My mum Angie, the original Willow, got me in to the game. I loved it, found it pretty addictive at times and it was so different to any game I'd played before.

What does it mean to you?

It did have meaning to me when I first played, people were friendly and there was so much to learn.

Where does it fit in your life?

It doesn't any more, I got fed up of the poison certain players created. Also found it pretty hard seeing my mum, Angie (the original Willow) getting so much abuse. Found I didn't enjoy the game any more because of how toxic people could be. A game is meant to be fun, not like a primary school playground.

Any ways soma has helped you?

Sorry to say but it has only taught me how many keyboard warriors are out there, sitting in their pokey little rooms, giving it to people because they have such a sad life and abusing people makes them feel better. It's them people who made me lose the love of the game.

On a final note, I would like to say that Soma is a great game on the whole and that the GM's have done a great job. There are also a lot of great players and a lot of friendly players who made the game playing worthwhile. Sadly, it's the small few that ruined it for the likes of me and my mum.

I have a good idea who these idiots that ruin it are... and they claim to be the "good guys" yet they are the real reason the Server is losing its players again.. not the people they claim have killed the game.

That was a great comeback, should imagine it took you all of thirty seconds to come back with something so constructive.
Not sure how someone meeting their son after many years is dirty laundry and really am confused why this has had such a huge impact on you. I shall leave you to think of a more constructive comeback, please try to do it without the need for bad language as it just makes you look like your IQ is as big as your shoe size.

Putting things in perspective.
Sure we've all had a moment of stupidity, anger/resentment/peed-offness and thrown a few silly shouts/ pms around......BUT

99% of the time.. This server pretty decent.. Most ppl will help if u ask..sometimes u don't need to ask. Some decent ppl here.. Mostly English speaking too...and the guys that arent English..on the whole, speak it well enough.
We got decent little community here, and most ppl get along to a reasonable extent.. Gm's doing far more for us than any subs-game..
Count our blessings

What’s wrong with the world is people like above taking offence to any kind of insult or disagreement, life is unfair, life doesn’t owe you fuck all, you’re all acting like salty snowflakes grow up. If my opinion is I think it’s shit that a Dad has lost contact with his own child but can play games on a computer, regardless of the circumstances my opinion still stands at its shit a dad has time for computers but has no time for his children..

This has gone way off topic I will not take it any more off topic.

Il put this situation to bed....

My dad worked his socks off for a decade before i was even born looking after my sister who wasnt his child but yet treated her like his own.... My mother treated my dad like absolute shit he put up with it for a good 12-13 years ...theirs 2 sides to every story of course i aint gonna go into details just take my word he suffered and theirs only so much a person can take.

things happen for a reason like how my search after years was actually succsesfull to how iv moved 60 miles away to be part of a family

Its a happy ending the past is what it is im not looking back on what ifs or how it could of been im greatful for here and now .

Espically for the people here who helped make the search succsesful

Im eternally greatful :)

- How did you hear about soma?

My son was watching it on Cartoon Network and asked if he could get the game. We were on 56k Modem then it was a nightmare to download lol

- What does it mean to you?

Soma was a big part of my life so like other people I can be rather nostalgic about the game... but not only that we played it as a young family :) so kept me closer to my son than maybe I would have been if I had not played. Until Soma I never played computer games .. Soma got me quite hooked and still play games to this day.

- Where does it fit in your life?

I play Soma when I get a few days down time :) if I could access it on an ipad I am sure I could play more :) my play is very erratic which means I am usually alone when I do log on.

- Any ways soma has helped you?

Like other people it helped me get through tough times :) not going to discuss those though and they are long gone thank goodness.

- Any great stories you've had in regards to soma?

I still have friends that I made on Esoma to this day. Some I have met in rl and some I have never met but still speak to on a regular basis and 2 special ones that I still speak to every day via facebook messenger and others that I say high to in game to this day if I see them online :) Out of the family though I am still the only one that logs on and plays :)

Thank you for such a great stable server :) xx

- How did you hear about soma?

Like most people. Game network I was about 13. Using this thing called splash plastic. Loading up my pocket money on it and taking 24 hours or so just to download it on my 56k modem!!

- What does it mean to you?

Just an escape. I suffer with high times of anxiety and playing some I literally forget it all.

- Where does it fit in your life?

Just when I have spar3 time. Sometimes my 3 year old watches me play it and says oh pretty colour when an aura goes off lol

- Any ways soma has helped you?

Like I said anxiety. At one point even depression. But mainly an escape from that thing people call real life. I worry about everything and anything which in turns gives me chest pains, panic attacks etc. But playing a game but especially soma it goes for that brief time I'm playing

- Any great stories you've had in regards to soma?

Remember the time I was 16 and my parents went away for a week on holiday. I could probably count the hours I slept that week on 1 hand.. I was working or playing soma... was a good week tb!!! Was alot of coffee. Energy drinks and pro plus lol
