Some gd points. but saying no to armour buff is also like saying they cant bring in new armour tiers just because people have made armour already. this would open up trade. people selling older items to new players for stuff they need to make new armour. wasnt that big a deal when new weapons were needed to be made.
The no immunity if you attack someone would stop the *free* stone thing you mentioned. but you dont go into where if someone really wanted to they could attack your mobs non stop to stop you hunting since they cant pk you anymore. gm clarity on that would be nice.

First of all I'm much appreciative of these podcast in regards to getting new and old players in game.
However I can't continue to listen to these podcasts, they are the same week in week out. Constantly trying to force feed your opinions down everyone's throat and believing you're correct about every point you put across. For Tom to say "it has to happen" because HE feels that, doesn't mean everyone feels the same way. Both of you strongly believe the pk change is going to be a positive for the server and believe it will make less people quit and I respect your opinions. However there's more than just your point of view. Soma is a pvp based game and the open world pvp aspect of the game is being restricted more and more, if people can't pvp on a pvp based game I feel some uc will be and its clear two of the top guilds in HSoma are against the change. "If you don't like it you know where to go", Tom indicating people who don't agree with the change and his opinion should leave the game completely goes against everything he said in the first half of this podcast and was a ridiculous thing to say. The point put across about people giving gm's grief for the pk change I agree is down to a few nobs and they don't represent those who are against these changes want their voice heard. The whole point in the forum is to discuss and share ideas with others and that seems to be restricted right now because threads/posts are constantly being deleted because the person who posted doesn't share the same opinion as yourselves/gm's, despite their posts being constructive and trying to get a point across which they feel would benefit the server. Of course delete the toxic posts. We should have to liaise between the two of you and John like you suggested to debate what we think is right and what is wrong. Lastly, please Tom stop saying "you know" at the end of every other sentence, its very irritating.

I echo the above, appreciate you guys making the podcasts but you are being completely biase.
350 damage from a normal hit from a level what? I need to see that to believe it....think you said he was a level 70 - 80 odd...I am capped with a pretty much max damage grim x bow and that's just not possible from someone of that level, unless humans are on lower % than devils. I think RvR there is something up (on t6)...seem to take less damage and deal more (being a devil) than ever, which can only be explained by something wrong with our % because we have no more attack or MD especially than before. At 110 now you are better off than you were at 100, we are pretty much the same now at 110 as we were at 100 pre patch.

"MANSNOTHOT"First of all I'm much appreciative of these podcast in regards to getting new and old players in game. I have enjoyed your pod casts but there is some really good points here. I understand you have views on issues you want to express / lobby for change. The issue arises when you say you are doing the pod cast for "the community". Tom you really need to try and see things from other peoples points of view.

"MANSNOTHOT"First of all I'm much appreciative of these podcast in regards to getting new and old players in game. +1 to this, i really enjoyed the first 2-3 podcasts but stopped listening after seeing how two-faced Cupid is on podcast/forum compared to in-game. I'm against the upcoming PvP change and know a few people who have already left the server because of it, and many more who are praying it doesn't happen. At what point does it become worth keeping the 5-6 care-bear players (who mainly brought these problems on themselves) for the sake of losing many more players due to a ruined PvP system on a PvP based game. I know iSylver has already said this change IS happening, but with such a small GM team working on the server in they're spare time (and doing an overall very good job) I guess they are only making game changing decisions like this based off the feedback of the select few who constantly PM them moaning/ban-fishing rather than the community as a whole. This is why I feel we need a polling system regarding game changing decisions like this

Good pod cast, however I urge you to see things from a different perspective. I am against the pvp changes, as are most people I speak to.
Apart from Matty playing Subxero, I haven’t honestly seen anyone been griefed in months? Certainly not since the cap raise. Everyone seems respectful of the move spawn rule? Matty on Sub knew what he would bring by admitting he was sub. He is a grown man and I am sure he will take revenge once capped. Subxero aside, who has been griefed? Cupid and Buffy die a lot, but then they just stand still with a bag full of ressies saying “go on go dev on me” and bait kills. The same would apply to Sandokan and PHP I imagine. There is legit not a way to “grief” someone unless the want to be griefed really at the high levels. I really don’t see all these players who are quitting because of being griefed, I don’t see any griefing since cap raise all I see are people leaving and the changes haven’t even been made official yet. We should look at two easy and strong changes that wont take long to implement and won’t change the whole complexion of the game. 1) been mentioned for years but moral is to easy to gain. Take moral back to esoma rates so going dev is a life / 2-3 month choice. 2) just have a pk free map (merc is laregely unused) change up some spawns and make the whole map only drop barr. If people want to level they can level in merc. 3) mag spawn in merc but lower drop rate vs vod so again there is a trade off. Or make the mag spawn in vod a blue safe zone like in wotw. (Think safe zone is best idea) because mobs that stone shouldn’t be pk friendly. The above solves the griefing, and doesn’t change any game play and I doubt many would complain.

Finished listening to it all now.
I think the easiest way of balancing rvr would be to give humans an “rvr” hero set and weapon. Not sure how this would work in a t6 raid. Unless you made all the set weight 0. Maybe the same for devils but with MD armour? Would be average- good armour with acc / eva / speed weps but with high defence and damage. That way melee could get involved. This would mean hsoma wins more so int hits lower. Wouldn’t need to be much coding I don’t think, they would just need to be made and put ingame? If balance is an issue, they can be tweaked accordingly.

The amount of PM's (regardless of sides) is about the same as ever. This mianly due to the seemingly permanent PK wars going on. |

If people want to leave because they can’t keep killing people over and over then that’s fine by me. This change is as much for our gms as it is the players.
My inbox and ghosts are constantly full of pking/harassment and griefing. In astounds me that people purposefully go out of their way to make players log out or move spawns only to have a guild member do the same at the new spawn. So the new system : - you cannot go into immunity if you’ve attacked another player in the past 30 minutes or so - immunity is in place if you die twice to pk within a period of time - should you attack anyone immunity is removed and you won’t be able to get it back for 30 minutes and then the 2 deaths will count. I would reiterate this - if people want to leave based on a change that they haven’t even tested then we don’t want those players around. There’s not enough toys to throw out of the pram. To those who want to test it and provide feedback to when it is in thank you.

The problem people had with the immunity rule is in pk fight's people would die twice just to get a 5th axe off, the changes you've stated here seem to fix that issue.

I really appreciate this new system coming in the toxic attitude of kill till you quit is just absurd. This is a small community and I don't understand why people would go out of their way to make it smaller.
I've been killed plenty of times by mutiny members on devil soma but it has never gone to the griefing stage. When we see each other in town I say hello and we chat about stuff and get the odd whisper talking about the game from their members. Just because PvP takes place it doesn't mean it has to become some hate filled grudge i fully intend to fight back when I get higher level but I'll do so in a fun and respectful way.

it looks like the stoning issue won’t be a problem then ^_^
It seems obvious to me that whe this change comes in the logical step is to remove spawn chasing rule. It is imo a messy unpolicable rule for many reasons and with the new system if it is gone then there should be absolutely no reason for someone to hassle the gms inbox

It's been said countless times that Gm's shouldn't play a part in in-game politics it doesn't seem to work (will also save you the headache of the pm's) I'm guessing the majority of pms will be tit for tat getting even which would instantly stop if you stayed out if the in game politics, if player X from DL says a swear word and a VK member gets him banned for it... Guess what happens next time a VK member says the same word back to a DL member... Yep more pointless work for Gms to deal with. Is there any other PvP based mmo out there that states how often your allowed to Pk someone? You may not want the players here who are leaving due to the changes but they are needed, Dsoma is all but dead now due to a lack of PvP, the options are play a human or continue playing Dsoma basically as an offline game (apart from Gvw and Wotw) If PvP Becomes to restricted Hsoma becomes like Dsoma and you have next to no usercount left to run a server for.
