Being pkd only twice in 30 mins( if thats what it is.. i think it is ) . benefits all players.. both the pk'd.... and stops the testosterone fuelled pk'ers going too far, and riskin a ban or ruining their morale.
It doesnt stop pk'ing .. just stops too much at one time on a single player'
It makes life easier for gm's inboxes.
It makes life easier for all players of all guilds..
It will proly only affect 5% of the server population..ish

And i would guess.... most ppl are welcoming this ( if only secretly and wont admit to it )

And really..its no big deal at all.... just injecting a bit of fairplay and common sense into the few players where those 2 traits are sadly lacking, and an automated fix needs to be applied.

the key here though is that pk will actually be automated once this comes in - it happens all the time that i log on at a spawn and someone is there i want to pk - then i find out they have recently been chased off a different spawn so apparently i'm not allowed to touch them. With this new rule this must be changed so that pk is fully automated.

there needs to be absolute clarity to all the people who hassle the GM's inboxes that it is futile trying to get people banned because a pker cannot actually stop you hunting any more - you either fight back or you die and carry on hunting - simple

"FLAWLESS"Good pod cast, however I urge you to see things from a different perspective. I am against the pvp changes, as are most people I speak to.

Apart from Matty playing Subxero, I haven’t honestly seen anyone been griefed in months? Certainly not since the cap raise. Everyone seems respectful of the move spawn rule?

Matty on Sub knew what he would bring by admitting he was sub. He is a grown man and I am sure he will take revenge once capped.

Subxero aside, who has been griefed?

Cupid and Buffy die a lot, but then they just stand still with a bag full of ressies saying “go on go dev on me” and bait kills. The same would apply to Sandokan and PHP I imagine. There is legit not a way to “grief” someone unless the want to be griefed really at the high levels.

I really don’t see all these players who are quitting because of being griefed, I don’t see any griefing since cap raise all I see are people leaving and the changes haven’t even been made official yet.

We should look at two easy and strong changes that wont take long to implement and won’t change the whole complexion of the game.

1) been mentioned for years but moral is to easy to gain. Take moral back to esoma rates so going dev is a life / 2-3 month choice.
2) just have a pk free map (merc is laregely unused) change up some spawns and make the whole map only drop barr. If people want to level they can level in merc.
3) mag spawn in merc but lower drop rate vs vod so again there is a trade off. Or make the mag spawn in vod a blue safe zone like in wotw. (Think safe zone is best idea) because mobs that stone shouldn’t be pk friendly.

The above solves the griefing, and doesn’t change any game play and I doubt many would complain.


This is the best proposal I've seen so far. Make blue safe zone alternative mob spawns and have the drop rate worse than the NON blue zone mob spawns. Obviously make it so you can't mob steal. If you made that a thing nothing else need be touched.

I'm failing to see why everyone is saying this is a big change? It's not and will only help with stopping grieffing

@Isylver if this is 100% being implemented and kept can we look at there being some kind of negative to being pked other then it only impacting Kd. This change combined with fins auto revive makes getting killed almost meaningless apart from abit of lost pride.

Could we look at making Resis ALOT more expensive or maximum limit of only being able to carry 2?

yeah leave PK system alone - seriously allow this carebare nonsense - PK should ALWAYS remain on - let a lvl 110 kill lvl 50s f*ck it!

Could we look at making Resis ALOT more expensive or maximum limit of only being able to carry 2?


+1 to this, its a PvP based game and every rule/update regarding PvP seems to punish the Pvp player and be a positive for the care bears

You must be reading somethin different to other players i think. There is no punishment for pvp players. You can pk all day, everyday, 24 hours a day. You just cant kill 1 person loads of times in one go.

You must be reading somethin different to other players i think. There is no punishment for pvp players. You can pk all day, everyday, 24 hours a day. You just cant kill 1 person loads of times in one go.

That's a massive restriction on PvP.

Go find me any other pvp based mmo in the world that says "oh sorry you can only kill him twice for now we wouldn't want to hurt his feelings"

Just because you think dying 1-2x in a row in Pvp is enough doesn't mean everyone else agrees / the server should be changed to suit you (and a select few others)

There is a punishment to pvp players. Like it or not for 15 years if you really dislike someone you can slow down their levellingpath/make them not hunt. Pking is not just to see the animation of someone fall on the floor - it’s supposed to mean/do something.

the brutal nature of the game is 100% what is appealing about it to a lot of people

Hmmm ''make them not hunt'' Isn't that the point of this new system? We don't have a massive uc here...we have a steady flow of players, and im sure the survival of soma depends on this usercount...a few donations to the server..and things carry on hopefully , with regular updates..and things remain reasonably civil between all players of any guild. Seriously all this macho talk...''stopping ppl levelling or hunting'' .. Not sure if u realise how counter-productive that is for not only individual players, but to the server as a whole......as has been said by many ppl...fs grow up..... and let things go forward instead of being a nobhead ...
