The PVP Patch - Making Soma PVP fun and without a large development cost

Simply changing knuckle / sword / spear attack auras i.e. 4th nuk to a truly useful and damaging attack would make people consider using those weapons.

Double 4th nuk damage, do something similar to the sword and spear equivalent, then you can choose between range or dropping power bombs.

This wouldn't solve the issue of not being able to hit a player as melee if they simply walk away.

No extra damage is needed, just the ability to hit a target is needed.

Soma is fucked, it’s a game of being an archer. Nothing else. Pointless being any other class.

Wats ruined it is:
Magmas being introduced
Level cap taking 4 years to raise
And lastly combine.
Ghost being made a gm
Where can soma go from here?
In 20levels time, every melee char will have 200dex, mages definitely won’t be able to cast and are forced to do dex and not there main class int.
Archers don’t have to worry about mages as they will have 99% acc each on them. People will have intense psycho bows and will kill mages quicker.

Ways to fix this from happening:
Wipe the server and delete magmas and combine.

Game will progress and issues will be addressed - instead of focusing on negativity think of how far the game has come since Esoma.

Also in 20 levels time:

- if people are still using psycho bows we’ve done a bad job
- if range balancing auras haven’t been introduced we’ve done a bad job
- if magmas are still end game mob we’ve done a bad job
- Don’t like it go play Esoma? Pretty sure you could go buy items there

removing combine is a good idea tbh its no fun when u can get the intense items so easily

It’s too late to remove combine rin. Be unfair for lower levels. I ain’t bothered about buying items dan. I made all
My gear legit back in the day without combine and magmas. The fact people are still buyin and getting away with it is amazing.

If u don’t delete magmas they will always be an end game mob with the drop rate. Also it shouldn’t take 20levels for all this to be introduced.

Magmas have been end game mob for over 2 years dan. I bet they are this time next year. Also I bet intense stingers and intense xbows will be the same this time next year.

Anyway rant over but I bet 80% of server agree

Would suggest if you don’t play you should move on. Rather than spreading pointless negativity.

Nothing wrong with a +2 stat rdt, tow etc in the future. Makes mags less worth hunting.

Half of this only applies to half of the server i literally do not care for pvp, never have.
Imo let the Gm's get on with it they know bow is steam rolling (im bow btw) and they will adjust other class to be in line with it just chill.

I think of this every time I go to criticise. I only returned from esoma relatively recently (maybe toward the end of November 2017) & was and tbf still am amazed at the improvements and moreover the fact that you guys are making the effort to keep the game going.

With this in mind please don't dismiss this as an unbridled criticism but could you please think about doing something to bring people back to d soma.

When I first joined d soma seemed to be thriving & then within 2 weeks of the patch fairly well everybody had left.

One of the key problems I think d soma has is the shear grind to 100+ with little or no drops to keep people encouraged along the way then everything comes at the end.

H soma players are complaining about combo making intense items too easy to procure - I am lvl 95 in d soma & have literally never had a tagged piece of Invul. drop and never had a sword better than a rare SoM drop and even that is incredibly rare - without combo I would be totally screwed.

I personally think that it would be worth trying upping the drops & possibly adding tiered crafting mats to d soma that drop more often e.g. lesser az pill etc. so that upgrades along the way are more accessible.

Also no disrespect to Ghostlord - I could be totally out of line here & maybe he is doing a lot behind the scenes but if he is supposed to be the GM representing d soma it does at least SEEM like he is much less active than you are Dan which is maybe also part of the problem. Perhaps you could recruit somebody to help him out if he doesn't have the time.

Firstly, this is not a thread about Combine or issues with past changes in the game, so please don't derail it Chojine/hurricane/sal3m. (Combine is amazing, I love it and it gives me stuff to do).

This thread is about fixing the issue of not being able to hit another player if they simply move one square away.

Anything else is not relevant to this thread. Don't make it your moaning outlet. Actually read what I've wrote and think about the problem I'm trying to address.

Isylver, do you have any feedback on the thread?

I like all the suggestions here and tbh, if dsoma mags weren’t ruined (for non archers) by having to either switch out to bow constantly/get bombed/both and these changes were implemented (the ones 162 suggested). I’d probably play some more. Improve the soul destroying drop rate on top of that and most of dsoma’s issues are solved, then you’d probably see more people returning to/joining dsoma.

Seems like range balancing auras is clearly at least being considered so maybe my idea isn't as off as you seem to think?

I also don't think it is fair for you to say that i'm derailing the thread by directly replying to something isylver has addressed especially when i've clearly taken the time to read all of your posts and give detailed responses to them...
