Just wondering....

No disrespect to what fin has done and added to the game but fact is it's just a rinse and repeat game. Players cap get bored then leave, cap increases players come back cap then leave again rinse and repeat. Pvp has also become too restrictive for my tastes, especially with what other games have to offer. I'd like to dust off my devs but what exactly am I dusting them off for?

I'm hoping I'll actually check these forums one day and see something that makes me want to reinstall this game again, and no not everyone wants to start 5 new perfect build characters that will then be left stood in tyt or has the time to do so. Just my opinion.

Agree with a lot of the reasons here. Game needs some significant new gear on both sides to refresh gear etc. Get people back in the game and hunting. Also could do with endgame being significantly built out as that's where other games really beat out Soma, as it has no real endgame.

There are a few things tbh.

Albion a very somaish game released a patch to increase pvp and massively boost content while the same month the pvp change happened on here which imo greatly reduced the content. Naturally soma st the top end is greatly competitive, if half your guild leaves, the rest are soon to follow because they cannot be competitive. Soma has always worked in these cycles, although this one does seem like the worst one.

No secret I’m not a whiter than white player in the past, but people are still piloting, buying items and afk healing with not much being done about it and I can tell that and I haven’t logged in the game in 3 months. The same Chinese players mass selling items are still unbanned, and still mass selling upgrades to the highest bidder.

Also the whole perfect char on hsoma is kind of depressing. To have a character with 3000 hours logged, you are heavily encouraged to have to start over because of a 15-25 stat difference at cap. Add to that now you have to heal (mostly afk at bugs). Something on hsoma should be brought in like dsoma, and you might see some more originals return. This game launched when some people where early 20’s and could put in the hours, they are now mid to late 20’s and can’t but are kinda forced to make a new char.

Oh and myth of archers, as everyone said it would, happened.

That’s also not a negative post, just an honest one. The GM team have done a great job with Soma, and it’s good to see despite a lot not playing, so many still do.

dsoma has become heavily about pvp to the point that people have left as cant even hunt anymore, it gets really boring, I do enjoy some pvp but not for 3/4 hours continuously, and I have no interest in hsoma,

Agree with this. Some people will just sit and create character after character after character, maybe they enjoy the game that much or have way too much spare time but that's their decision.

If you have an older character you're kind of forced to start over which is a bit annoying, as time is a major factor for anyone with a full time job.

Also why are people funnelled to level a certain weapon at certain stat ranges? Is there not a way to stop this being needed?

I think it is being stopped hence the no bonus on boars wo ur str don't influence dex gains at them and I'm sure this.method would be carried on with any new mobs

Problem is it doesn't actually have an end game.

Lets be honest..soma is soma, and every1 knows what it plays like. You cant expect miracles here.
Im sure if u have maxed out gears..then things could become a little boring..but most ppl dont, and those with time to play..keep playing for the great gears.

We have the ''Carslberg Edition''of Soma here..... way better than it used to be...and the Gm's still putting time and effort in to try make it better and last longer. Thats not really something to moan about..The gms' listen to constructive criticism or ideas, but they cant just do it at the drop of a hat.
Most players recognise that, and still enjoy the game... so...give the gm's and soma mechanics a break...and play it x

I don't think anyone is after miracles here, I understand soma is soma and at the end of the day there's only so much you can do with it. Think most are just after a reason to continue playing after hitting maximum level or for a reason to pick the game up again.

Getting max gear is great but max gear to do what exactly? Kill mobs in 13 hits instead of 15? In my opinion that's not a reason to pour in hours and hours of farming and breaking things.

I think the frustration with this game, and any like it, is that you as a player are looking to gain achievement through playing. This can come in the form of higher stats, better gear etc. but Soma is lacking in both of these regards now. You saw how many people came back in the patch for the new content (which was essentially 4 monsters and some additional accessories) and people are clearly wanting new items.

DSoma is far enough into the cycle of 150+ crafting skill chars for almost everyone to have +5 intense endgame weps and good gear, it's high time that a new tier was made that made things more interesting again on both HSoma and DSoma (making gorshak tier items more accessible also than at Boar) if nothing more than to keep the game exciting for people. This happens a lot with games where old content is now relatively obsolete but it requires content additions which I think is the biggest thing that Soma lacks right now.
