archer vs mage

I truly hope GM's see through all your bs about mages 1 hitting people from full, yes its theoretically possible but it's so slim its laughable, no mention of swords hit+5th and spear hit+4th dropping people in 1 go, or bow 2hits+4th dropping all mages, time wise takes the same amount of time as one cast
I heard rumour ted was trying to convince isylver that bow is most underpowered because of its low str, that is just a joke if it's true and not on tryjng to con gm's

It's more than theoretically possible! And with the right gear it's not that slim at all. imagine a +5 proc set. Atleast bow damage can be out-potted for a mage, 1 shots are impossible to outpot,

Unsure what gear your rocking but maybe if you work on it abit you'd see how often and deadly them 1 shots are

Mages do feel abit squidgy but with that damage they need to be, unless mages are willing to take a massive nerf to damage dealt for more con.

If anything it's axers/mages on here constantly saying how "OP" archer is that's trying to con the Gms into making changes and shouldn't be on.

I remember Coven doing it back when it was so broken it was unreal, constantly trying to tell Gms that it wasn't broken axers it was just the gear they had on Gene. Worked for them tho I guess, was a good 2years of axers being ridiculously OP.


Tried voicing it back then how broken they were but ofc when they got the whole guild on forum whispering in Gms ears that it's not broken they got away with it for so long

Now that's bull

Archer was indeed doing minimal dmg to a axer in full def gear, but u never saw axers going round winning all pvp like archer do now, I could beat gene in a duel as another str class wilst he was in def gear

Your problem was u had all archers, hardly any other class, now that archers are back strong its back in your favor, don't get me wrong I'm not saying archers are super op, that dex, hit rate and range all together makes them op, the fact you have mostly archer just helps to boost the fact archers are op. Not because you have them in your guild

As for mage vs archer I do think it's a little silly that the mage is completely stoped from casting, think 4th cool down could be made smaller, tho spose that dosnt stop class's from running soon as u cast it, but would help a little

Could try mages having a root aura, tho think that would be a little op for the none range class's

All true, feel free to go back through forum posts and see all Coven claiming it wasn't the class, just the gear, everyone who played knows how broken the class was

My last duel pre balance patch (on a knux) was against Yareyare testing damage, I ran full +5 attack set, he had a few accuracy pieces and didn't even use PD aura, I landed alot of hits. He killed me with 90% hp still remaining. It was the class and nothing to do with the gear that was making it broken.

Agree that mages are abit squidgy but no way should they receive any buffs for survivability/free casting without having damage nerfed big time.

I can't see what is NOT op about archers, they have the best range, best dex, high damage, they all where zombie pants as they can get away with no pads.
and with them fast bows zombie always popin off.

No wonder there are so many archers whats not to like !!

If that the case giv hit wigoutt cooldown aura staff guys let just say it and nerf that insane dmg low it that cant kill anyone with 1 hit with good gears:)

and with them fast bows zombie always popin off.

No wonder there are so many archers whats not to like !!


The range / dex is needed due to the low con/ str. Archer can be 1 shot from a hit+5th sword in zombie pads. The damage other classes deal to them (mainly the auras) is more than enough to quickly drop an archer.

Maybe it doesn't help that the majority of archers are in Mutiny, and Encore/Dl/AP choose to log majority axers (no attacking aura) and mages (casting can be stopped) to fight against them.

I've been in fights on an archer (even numbers) where you bring sword/spear/axe/bow and its pretty much impossible to outpot when 5th axed. And thats with +50 odd in dex gear aswell

All of u been trying to make the server on ur fa or its been for years, axers already super op none talking about cuz encore use it mages also insane dmg as fk encore using also none talking about any new ideas?

It's a hard one to balance and depends on the scale of Pvp, archer damage isn't amazing, but if there is 5 of them clicking on the same person ofcourse that person is going to die fast -
Apart from axers.

Same as if someone was standing still while 5 spear users hit them, they'd die very fast.

Archers just seem abit stronger when there's alot of them together with basic coordination due to range.

If it was all 5 classes* (axe/bow/spear/sword/knux) in a 5v5 the archer wouldn't seem at all OP - axer would land a 5th axe, everyone would jump on stoned target, every class other than the axer would die just as fast as each other, apart from the axer who would be able to outpot the damage,

If auras aren't timed right, archer/knux may survive due to dodge/dex. Spear use may just have enough con to survive. Sword I think would still be Rip (shield wouldn't be enough defence I feel) axer would survive almost every time.

Based on this - and this being the best way realistically the Gms can base balance imo, axers wouldn't get many kills, but almost never die, sword users would be one of the weakest in terms of survivability, but also getting the most kills with 5th sword aura damage.

You can't base archers as being OP just because there is alot of them killing your mages easily. Imagine 5 mages vs 5 axers, would be a bloodbath. Would we need to start nerfing mages and buffing axers?

*left mage out due to it being able to 1 hit everyone and nobody would stop chasing the others mage.

Ibex and myself floated the idea of uber high def robes that only.mages could wear to stop axers making use but that are non upgradable
This is the con boost they would need while removing the proc which is what does the damage, a flat magic hit is around 20% on axer substantially less on others

Isn't too bad an idea tbh, but mages could still get 34% proc from access. Do feel they need more survivability from somewhere but it has to be in exchange of a big damage reduction.

Other than that I'd maybe give spear a tiny bit more con, the rest of the classes are very well balanced
