Idea for balance (dsoma)

the biggest thing that slows melee chars Dex gains down on dsoma is the new 100~105 Dex slow which is worse than the 95~100 even as bow i got 0.6 dex per lvl once hit 100

Wouldnt it make sense if the highest devil mob had enough str so that an axer would cap str at about lvl 100

Be funny to see an axer have 216 str with 140 str, or a sword with 216 str and 160 dex only to see an archer have 216 str and dex cap (If thats even possible) because there amount of levels available allows them to cap str (or get close)

Basically means at cap its highly favorable to be an archer (Then knuk) if they can cap str or even get remotely close to it.

That is the absolute crux of the matter imo. Exactly as you've said above, the current situation lends itself to every class having near identical str whilst dex is wildly different. There should most definitely be a mob above wbm for str classes to reach their true potential.

Agreed, you shouldn't cap str before level cap, and when cap is raised a new mob should get added to make sure you can keep getting str till cap

Same with int B-) should need to punch just to boost my str not to get good int gains

New INT monster please!

Turdnuggets that I happen to have both and Axer and a Mage with the same 'problem'.

Currently I'm not even looking into the possibility of a new STR mob for DSoma. Yes, most likely axe, spear and possibly sword will cap before the STR cap. However if we'd raise it we'd also raise archers and knuxers.

I'm all for the str/con change,
Also why shouldn't there be a new mob atleast axers that lack dex will have a significant amount of str more than there fellow classes?
I'm pretty sure axe was always intended to have the highest str by quite alot (other than spear) and the defense too make up for the lack of dex?

Because then archers too would get more STR and muck up balance even more.

Ye but if they hit lvl 100 cap before the new str mob

Could always add a new armor that's class specific, as a way to boost Axers and spears rather than this con/str swop

Won't they hit the level cap before they get that close to capping str though? Just like I will hit the level cap before getting anywhere near the dex cap. The difference being I will be severely behind on dex, and they will only be maybe 20 str behind the current cap imposed by wbm.

No, because they can move to a new mob earlier they would end up with more stats too. Granted not as much as axers or spear users. This is because there's a bonus if you're lower str than the mob and again at 30 less str than a mob. Remember that because of their nature archers can exploit this to a maximum effort.

So what is the plan? because it can't go on with archers being the alpha class? also there needs too be something added for Axe and Spear users because atm it is just unfair.... (im not moaning) would just like too think the time i will be investing in my axe user will not be wasted, when i cannot hit an archer/knux user and when i do i deal the same damage as a swordie... I tbh cannot think of any solutions, other than a new mob however you explained perfectly that would mess things up more... im guessing archers finish with around 50 - 80 more dex than axers? so if we can't finish 50-80 more str than archers what else can you do add 50 ~ 50 attack to our weps lol? that would be rediculous because anyone who hit the final axe would be ploughing through levels at a speed uncompetitive for other classes.... so what is the plan =/ ?

Devil Soma is a 1 class based lvling system. Look at other games and how the balance classes in these scenarios. The most common and most effective is class specific weapons and armours. This would open up a world of opportunity for devil soma and implement a huge amount of fun. Could even link to crafting.

A few ideas off the cuff, but axers could get %s of accuracy and damage. Swordies could get HP and HP regain. Mages could get % evasion or MP and Def.

If ideas like this were implemented I would honestly think it would give dsoma a boost. I would definately start lvling my devil noobs again.

Like the general idea here but hp+/regen for swordsman lol no, that's the most useless thing ever just take a look at 2nd sword aura for example.

Not having a personal pop at you just hate how people think sword should get hp+ or hp regen I'd rather sword got something that was actually useful because taking one extra hit to die isn't.

The class specific ideas were not there as serious ideas. Just options available. The intention of the post was to create an idea behind balancing classes.

The only thing I would say is the class specific bonus if implemented would need to be strong enough to actually
Impact on pvp. I.e +3% accuracy and not +10%(10%)
