a helping hand?...........

I think CON should be left as it is. Sure, it's a hell of a grind to 30, but worth it. Of all my own meagre achievements, I found reaching 30 as the most satisfying. The GMs are leaning over backwards to make the game more attractive, but giving 30 CON away would really p*ss off those of us who have ground our way through it. In any event, the bugs have already helped tremendously.

On the other hand, giving just enough INT away at the start would enable melee players to gain auras without having to waste time getting the necessary INT to support them. This level of INT would have no other use to them and would be a waste of XP. 30 INT would seem about right. Mages, like myself, would confirm that it would be far harder to get from 200-201 than from 10-30 INT.

I think wisdom does mana regen. I've got 5 characters with 30 con and one of them I did at lvl 60 and it wouldn't bother me, but each to their own.

Can't be any worse than a crafter getting annoyed grinding there way up to have rates increased by double recently. I'm all for CON being addressed. As it stands, I have no intention of getting any more than my 27, and can't see newcomers finding it attractive either.

However the implementation maybe tricky with making it not have noobies have an advantage % wise, but having read recently how the stat gaps reduce over time anyway, I don't see a problem overall.

It's for the greater good, in my opinion. (Coming from a non-30 con grinder tho ;) )

i think, to be honest, 26 con should be a starting point. not 30, that way people can still have decent hp and bagweight stamina etc, and the people that wanna get to 30 can do so and have that little advantage. keep 26-30 same speed as it is now.

dont see why we need 30 int

Reroll characters shouldn't even exist in the first place let alone be actively encouraged by making it even easier for veteran players to start again. Something's dreadfully wrong with the game if the GMs feel the need to cater for such players and if they genuinely think they need to they need to think about far more drastic measures.

I understand where you head is at Mystical, however ...
This isn't WoW - we don't have the privilege of the userbase - we are a very small community. With that in mind and how old Soma is, we need to admit when the game is less appealing to new players and old players alike.
So, its tedious to get CON - yes
it's tedious to heal for INT - yes

If you were a new player coming from WoW / Guild wars / whatever AAA MMo - and by chance came across Soma, would you talk to people in town, find out you need CON and INT for a good start char, do 0.3 CON and uninstall? - most likely yes.

Does this mean that players like myself and 90%+ of the community have had to do it the hard way and these new gens get it easier - yes
Am i upset about that? - HELL NO, get the userbase up at our expense in my opinion.

I would create a new char if this was done purely due to being close to the current cap and wanting to make a different build.

Just my thoughts, i'm not saying you are wrong - i'm just looking at Soma as the 15 year old game it is and how we can improve for new players (or the limited new players that Soma attracts)

+1 ..spot on visk

Its not gona be giving any advantages other than gettin rid of the 2 week grind that wud put off 95% of real new players...and would encourage experienced players to re-roll another

To be honest I can’t be arsed to play Hsoma for the fact to compete I need to be tanked or use another char to do the 50+ track. It just kills the most enjoyable part of the game.

iSylver commented that the difference curtails but I interpreted that it doesn’t grow as much as first 32 levels I tested but it’s plain to see that the 16 stat difference probably extends to a good 25? Gear is one thing to offset but as gear is the hardest thing to get in Hsoma. I’d sooner do something else.

Too much for me and too many players out there trying to protect ‘their hard work’. Doesn’t set a good precedent.

I’ll stick with devil soma / other games.

speeding up the crafting..making srs, upgrading more accessible for every1..and more relevant drops from many mobs is a step to make things easier for every1?

And mostly hi levs asking for things to be made a bit easier for all... thats not looking after themselves..its trying to look after every1 ?
Different opinions.. different interpretations i guess.

add an npc who gives the option of the con but it also gives exp to the character at a rate of 1.5x - 2x what it would normally take. so those who want to put the time in still have an advantage over those who want stuff for nothing.

Fox with slowdowns etc the gap would’ve lessened a fair bit by the time you capped, not expanded. I’ve seen +30 non heal chars v a lot of healing +50 the whole way chars at the higher end comparisons and the difference is fairly negligible considering the time and effort saved.

Agree totally with you lupi,

I was at 194 weapon craft skill when Isylver increased the crafting rates, am I upset hell no, if this increase gets more players to try there hand at crafting then it's a giant step in the right direction.

Being able to craft your own items, special repair your own items, upgrade your own items is a great part of this great game. The only downside is the limited amount of mats now due to the higher demand for them, but as much as it's hindering my time now having to spend more time collecting mats and less time crafting for skill, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to go through to see so many players at the crafting stations, like old times :)

That wasn't directed at you Lupi.

It was directed as the usual score of people that say no to CON changes, or no to evening up the difference between +0 stat mobs or +10 to +50 because there's a degree of 'no, I worked hard for this advantage, and don't want to loose it". When every man and his dog knows that to play the game NORMALLY... you know to actually ENJOY the game, not do out of repetition or because you've played the game before... you don't need to be put at a significant disadvantage to the experienced player base.

The best parts of the game are hunting kobolds, raptors, trolls, spiders, mummies, zombies and yet most of it is skipped (and the dungeon).

That said...

I don't know if that's true Musa.... would need an official answer on it, again forget healing for INT but what a +50 stat DEX/STR char until level 100, 110 and 120 look like versus a otherwise regular player looks like is pretty important. I'm sure people posted the differences at level 100 before and they were noticeable, even if with differing builds.

Could do with a clear explanation as to how +0 bonus mobs contribute to fixing it also.
