Dsoma Economy ~

Author Content Date
"ISYLVER"Appreciate the feedback.

However, comparing it to hsoma for droprates or upgrades is not the thing to do..

Dsoma was fundamentally never supposed to have an upgrade system - we added one to change the monotony of getting an L tag weapon and then nothing to build upon.

As for con+ or str+ upgrades they are a choice it’s up to you if you want to or not.

We all understand that

However you aint going to keep ppl playing dsoma once they get close to cap , when they can pop over to hsoma and have so many more drops, at this point u will see them trade all there dsoma items and go hsoma fully (making it very hard to then return)

Those that don't like the special repair of hsoma will just stop playing, as once your caped and the rewards are spread out to much then and there's no levels to gain theres nothing keeping ppl

As for con and str upgrades, ppl aint going to nerf there char(same for the new weapons), DEX is by far the better stat atm, Rubys to counter this but now theres even more demand for rubys with the new magic proc, making it even harder to get a hold of

So be it.

To be clear - we have no plans to increase Dsomas damage output atm. If you don’t want to sacrifice 7 stats for a new wep at 120 then don’t. It’s an option.

Currently we’re looking at balance and of course increasing Dsomas melee damage output is not on that list.

As I said - we’re already seeing a slight inclination to better rvr - which will then allow us to look at what happens next.

The sad truth is Dsoma got a lot of cake and have eaten it early with the upgrade system - in hindsight perhaps we shouldn’t have added it so early.

Saying that there's barely any active dsoma characters.
Last night was the best wotw in a very long time, however, Devs probably outnumbered 3 to 1, and humans only come when the % is in there favour, devils turn up regardless of wotw % from my experience anyway, off top of my head I thought we were fighting at 60%ish effectiveness.

Dsoma has always had a high dam output cus I thought we were meant to stand a chance at these events, but it kinda proves the thing of "when humans turn up we don't win" think I get 3 hit without weaken by some humans at level 105.

The 7 stat sacrifice is a different thing, people would probably happily sacrifice the stats if the weps were readily ish available, currently with the slim.chance of getting last hit on nega being the only way to get the new weps, people won't respec until they have the ability to obtain a intense new weapon as the dam output of a +5 grim level wep will outclass for quite some time if it carries on only being able to get the weps from nega

I'd quite happily sacrifice 2 Dex/2str/3con or even 7con without hesitation if I had a nega class wep to equip, even at +0... Just with the crashing dsoma UC (don't get me wrong, it's much more active when we have conti) we will eventually struggle to get enough people to attempt to kill nega.

That's just my opinion.

But all that being said, were not asking for damage increases of any kind.

We're just asking for the droprate to be increased to help us with trading etc etc.
Just to make the game a little bit more fun for the higher levels :)

With that being the case would you consider adding randomly generated on drop/combine proc % things to the new weapons like somebody suggested in another thread, for example 5% blind/slow chance? This would give people more incentive to go farm and +5 one even if it’s pretty much the same ATK as before for the proc % chance.

Maybe you could even add a third axe like stone proc chance on the close range weapons which in turn would help balance the range issues which are more apparent on Dsoma.

I play Hsoma now anyway but I think keeping the devil’s interested is important, last nights WOTW was very busy on both sides and it’d be sad for fun fights like that to go away if they were to lose interest and disappear.

I agree with whats already been stated by mus and Shivs

Tho a few possible suggestions that could help

Rubys needs to be only for keen eyes, there's a massive shortage already without the new proc adding onto the ruby demand

Rdt made to give 1str and 1 con(back to how it was before patch with str adding to attack and def) this should increase the demand for RDT and there usfullness

Red pod/blue pod, increase the proc % a little to try bring there value and demand higher

As for the new weapons wis, 7 stats dosnt sound to harsh, are we sure it's only 7 stats tho, as I worked out a spear at 120 would have 102 wis, with the new spear needing 115 wis (down from 125)(il re look later) also a suggestion could the attack increase from tags be decreased on nega weaps and then the base attack increase so that rare tag are on par with intense old weapons (currently the amount needed for combining and then upgrading is way to high for these to every viable(tho I spose this need for a new weap is just due to not having a new weap for so long)

We all understand that your looking to balance rvr, but devil soma pvp also needs a balance to bring none dex class's back into play and not just the tanks(thus increasing the demand for RDT and red pods again)

Axe can get enough def with PD to be a tank, spear cant and the hitrates so bad that where basicly forced to go accucy now, leaving both class that used rdt set to use CT or Keen eyes only, the amount of archer popping up due to there supremacy in pvp has put a high demand on DT to out pace the other archer

As for sword and knuckle there also quite squishy, knuckle manages to keep up with a dex set saving them, sword becomes about 5th sword only

I think the biggest issue is the fact that every1 at cap wants the same 2 items:
Mellee want DT for dex sets
Mellee dex chars want ke (rubies) for attack on access
Less dexy want ke (rubies to add acc as it's the only counter to the dex chars)
Now the new procs are in, mages want rubies for the new procs
All of which rubies are in a recipe and regularly fail meaning more demand

So much great feedback, thanks for popping in Isylver.

To clarify, this thread was purely about providing a temporary solution to the lack of players to trade with, I have plenty of items to trade, but nobody to trade with.

A bit of feedback:
~Firstly, despite my suggestion, I don't really think upping the drop rate is a great idea, but it would certainly alleviate the problem.
~Hsoma IMO does not need a drop rate increase.
~The idea of more/repeatable quests is a great idea, for both races.
~Huge amounts of Barr for items is a good idea, both races.
~Currently, I think the dsoma upgrade system works great.
~I think RVR is very balanced, considering devil's were designed to be outnumbered and be stronger, which we are both of these.
~The new weapons IMO are fine as they are, 7 stats is not allot, it helps balance RVR, yes it was definitely too high before, now its OK, the drop rate of new weps is fine too, we don't all need to be running round in +5 intense new weps right away, and neg has already been nerfed enough so that people actually attend, so it's fine.
~Dsoma does not need to do more dmg, not sure where this idea came from, buts it's fine as it is.
~I like the idea of some proc on new weps, would make them all very different and unique.
~I absolutely fucking love the idea of a 3rd stone proc, but that's just because I think pvp is broken where archers/mages can just scurry around and feather about.

So back onto topic, I guess the way solution would be a temporary kind of npc like what has been suggested where you can exchange items, values even set my GM's
I also think increasing small ruby to medium ruby drop from mags would be enough, I've spent many hours at mags and still yet to get a small ruby

More content in Devil Soma (not end game) = Slows down progression = retains and steadies a player base = throwaway characters and items dont become so throwaway = economy

Thing Is Isylver, I fully agree we (archers especially) shouldn't be dealing more DPS and I'm glad the new weps don't, but we need something to keep us active, better drops at mobs wouldn't harm anything and would give those who aren't fully geared more chance to gear up and fight relative to those of us who are already geared well, without having to farm the same mob for years on end to reach that point.

I think the economy would come alive a bit and UC increase...it's not a permanent fix but still...

Medium Rubies at mags, NPC as mentioned and increased drop rates, don't think it would affect rvr much at all as there are still going to be way more active humans farming and obtaining their new gear.

You have done a lot of good things for the game, but I honestly feel if some of the solid suggestions made on forum were added (not saying mine) it would enhance things so much.

On the topic of new weapons, is the new bow even able to drop with the same stats as grim x? when you consider the 7 point reallocation required?
