By increasing the success rate of upgrades the disparity between the haves and have nots will only increase. The item buyers will prosper.

Inside knowledge? I've tried feeding the anvil cookies, sweet talking and intimate oil massages but it still wont give me any joy.

Yeh no doubt there is a trick to it. Some players have a remarkable knack of churning +5 and above out and then you look at Flicks' success stats you realize it must take an obscene amount of items to do if it was pure luck. Others have suggested the theory of ''inside knowledge' and they were shot down pretty quick. Its a delicate system and like Dr.Evil said, if you tinker too much you will open up a can of worms. /Waffle

Good to see some of the 150 skill crafters having good luck with their items..

Btw.. miscalculation in my above post.... 150 - 200 skill is like doing 1-150 skill 7 x ( ish) ..so ud expect a little of a bump in the success rates when u take 12 mnths out to achieve 200.
Made the point enough times. i wont mention it again.

It is a bit lack luster, the difference between 150 and 200 skill success rates for the time required to achieve the skill.

It would be cool if 200 skill opened up the ability to make cool new sets or something or that ilk, to offset the time ploughed into gaining the skill.

For 12 months effort I would have to see at least a 25% increase in success or it's not worth the time, would rather take chances at 150 skill several times.

Hitting my thirties has made me grumpy and value my time a lot more :P

And also 7 fails in a row on 200 skill char

Its all luck

Volume is key

To defend Flick here... he knows everything about crafting. Period. Other than how to make the anvil work. His success is down to insane volume of attempts, one item at a time. That is basically the only way to beat the anvil.

Also.

You need balls (or teets of steel, let's be fair to them ladies) to upgrade.

Worth noting, I don't go above +5. The cost of breaking... I don't think it's worth it. I also buy as many of my items as possible. It is often cheaper in the long run, and there are usually ultra players who have nice piggyback items to sell.

Piggyback = make item +1 then another +1. Try for +2 when you have ×2 +1. Repeat until you have what you want. This is very expensive, but you never get into a situation where you have no items. People like me hoover up what is left! Please note that this system is not really viable after +5 in my opinion.

Fails... I once made ×2 +5 con rings in a fails attempt and all my good stuff broke. Never again for me. Some people swear by it though.

Theoretically, based on RNG it shouldnt make any difference. Every single attempt is a new roll. People counter with statistical probability on mass/gross attempts based on the 1/100 black means only 49/100 black left and 50/100 red. You want red so black means your 'up' - me and my friends have argued about this alot.

Stephen Hawking died before this black hole was sucessfully dissected.

Even so, just to mention. Do you all really need +8 everything?

"ISELIX"

To defend Flick here.

I only mentioned his name to credit him with the Stats he provided on the forum. Nothing derogatory in case you thought so :). piggyback system is good , expensive though.
